Beautiful playing, great job! What is up with your guitar? It looks like a science fair project gone out of control :) yet you get this beautiful sound out of it. Just goes to show it doesn't have to look good to play good!
I love how you're always like the audience member watching the show...just completely motionless, emotionless, like a breeze....:D beautiful and thorough compositions every time....and the chord use....phenomenal! <:P
You are amazing Jake. I love the little 'bass' run at 0:37 to 0:40 and the transition thereafter and also the little bit between 1:24 and 1:27. It's all good though.
This is one of those gorgeous half-forgotten tunes which serve to remind us how pitiful the current music industry is. You did a great job creating a convincing arrangement of it on your axe...hats off!
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love that song and now even more Im also a guitar player love jazz also.Wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you did it some justice took it to the next level awesome excuse me Im steppin out
Thanks! Yes, standard tuning... I'm not sure if this shows up in the annotations, but I have an instructional DVD showing how I play this arrangement if interested... Thanks again!
Hi ! I'm watching & listening to the persons that had covered Joe Jackson's songs (in fact, I was searching persons that had covered "It's different for girls", and after having watched them, I felt on your video). Cool video. Did you record it in a music shop or are all those guitars and drums yours? If it's the case, I've looked but always saw you with the guitar that you use here. I'm very interested by the guitars, that's why I'm asking myself if it was your guitars? Cool video. BYE !
Thank you! I have the original high quality wave file of this performance so I can make a CD for you. Choose 10-15 of my tunes, I'll make a CD for you for fifteen bucks plus S+H. Please let me know if interested. Thanks again!
Jake. Please start recording. Your music will make a great addition to my Ipod collection. I'm a drummer myself , but your guitar play made a believer out of me.

Absolutely brilliant, but where is your mind, you seem a bit apart from the rendition save the twitching of your lips. Are you thinking about making the groceries or something.
Thanks! In my arrangements, for the most part, I treat pop tunes like I would jazz standards, I play a loosely/mildly arranged head and improvise all the solos.
yeah, i thought as much. all the more admirable. arranging a poptune in a jazzy fashion is one thing, making it work full-fledged with solos and everything is an entirely different beast altogether, imho. very tasteful, no overload on flashyness or anything (as usual with your videos), just pure music and skill. i'm starting to get a bit envyous :-)
haha, i just realized i'm starting to sound like a fanboy :-) no worrys, i'm not going to stalk you or anything ;-) i'm just a fan of great guitarplaying, that's why i seem to follow you around, haha
Yes, I have some guys, very good bass and drums, I play with every time I go which is 1-2 times every year. I don't have the schedule yet but I can let you know although it's probably too far for you to come... Maybe next time I can go all the way south. Thanks!
Thanks! Genius seems a bit too strong a word, it's just that I live, think and feel music all the time and have done so for many years so every once in a while something good comes out of my guitar...
Wondeful job!!! You're fantastic, very well done, you respect absolutly Joe Jackson with your incredible art!!! five stars for you is not enough!!! bravooooooooo
Hey man, $50 will get me going almost anywhere! Seriously though, I travel to France every year. If I can build up a small (or big!) fan base in the UK, I'd definitely be into making a detour so who knows!
Thanks. You got a great channel too, i subscribed (and suggest others do the same) and will soon comment on your great music. What part of Spain are you from? I travel often to the Bergerac region of France. If you are not too far from Pays Basque maybe we can get together and jam sometime.
Thank you!! I'm in the Costa del Sol, Málaga. It's the south of Spain , Andalucía, far from Pays Basque. I really like the way you play pop tunes with that beatiful jazz languaje. Some of these are tunes that I hear when I was a teenager (Baby Come Back,Time, Eye in the Sky, Hey Nineteen and some other) it's a surprise to find it played in a such a good way. Keep up that good work!! Wish could see you playing soon.
Simply fantastic! Joe Jackson is such an amazing composer/performer who consistently draws from multiple genres. It seems so appropriate for you to record a Joe song since your playing and arranging draw from such a variety of traditions and styles as well. As with all of your "covers" you have honored the original while making the song your own. Well done...This is top notch!
Great job Jake. This is an awesome 80s new wave song, but there are so many more good ones in that genre. Even in the sub-genre of new wave ballads there's lots of good ones. You could try True by Spandau Ballet, Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper, Holding Back the Years by Simply Red, or one my favorites, The Captain of Her Heart by Double. I could go on and on. Actually you already did an 80s new wave ballad before, Save a Prayer, which I really liked. Take care for now.
Thanks. I play all those songs. I actually recorded Time After Time on my CD 16 songs. I sell all my tracks, including high quality MP3s of my YouTube performances, for a buck a piece through Pay-pal if interested. Thanks again!
