  • Borrowed ideas from Black Decameron ?

    ok everything is valid ..,.

  • @cantaclaro2 I have played decameron and am also studying this i don't see any borrowing going on here ! viva domeniconi one of the hidden gems of classical composition.

  • domeniconi is a genius.

  • it's subtle, but jimmi's there =)

    at 2:53 for example.

  • He was my guitar teacher when I was 6-7!

I'll wil upload a video of me and him

    a very ralented guitarist!

  • @dunkie75 Id really love to see that!

  • Contemporary modern variations on the purple haze theme. True genoius here folks.

  • awesome. I'm just finding out about this guy. by the way, is that a cellphone or what the hell is that beeping noise? how insulting to the performer.

  • Certainly an interesting piece but its a shame he didnt use some Hendrix themes and thus one can make a musical connection to him.A remarkable guitarist nonetheless

  • I think there is quite a bit of themes, there just so small and elaborated that its hard to hear them. I thought the same, but if you listen carefully you'll find the similarities.

  • Although his expressions maybe are a little over-the-top, you can't deny that he really feels the music in his heart. For a classical player to give due credit to a rock guitarist maybe makes the snobs recoil in horror, but true artists defy categorization. That frustrates those who are so stuck on tradition that they miss out on the truly beautiful art. His style isn't exactly my cup of tea either but talent can't be denied! Rock on!

  • ive seen pavel in a small church i sat maybe 4 feet from his guitar, the facial expressions go so well with the notes he plays at the time, and adds an element of humor.

In person his sound is so mind blowing you dot concentrate on that anyway.

  • viva nokia ;(

  • I love his faces, but mostly, his music.

Music was made to be perceived by ears and soul, not by the eyes.

By the way, how is it possible to be a cell phone ringing during PAVEL´S CONCERT!!

  • wow sounds just like Hendrix....

  • kao ovlaš popravlja štim, koji as

  • shut your eyes! he's not trying to annoy you. I know how twisted my brother's face gets when he plays, I've never seen mine, but it's mostly out of my control. Some of us just use alot of body english. Like Jimi, this guy is working the guitar: not just playing notes, he's digging in......definitely shoot the perp with the phone.....no, second thought; public flogging in front of the theater.

  • quien compuso esta pieza?

  • Carlo Domeniconi

  • The person with the mobile should be taken out and shot after they don't turn it off the first time! Pavel is the greatest guitarist in the world in my opinion, I heard this before in Glasgow live, unfortunately this video doesn't do justice! I'm playing to him in a masterclass next Thursday!

  • yeah mate

  • the cellphone was annoying...

  • you need to get a bit high to hear the hendrix in this, he suddenly appears. it's too deep to hear in an unaltered state

  • I agree, the facial expressions are a distraction from the music.

  • he plays beautifully, but the facial expressions are silly...

  • You can't help that. You can battle with it your entire life but it will be a losing battle. You just have to give in and wear sunglasses if it's too embarrassing.

  • Clearly you are not a musician. Those faces come naturally.

  • Dear Carlos, most musicians give us cold, styleless, boring performances. If those faces are the price to pay, it is worth it. Maybe the cold ones (a majority in classical performance!) should start doing some faces in turn.

  • Well,I disagree completely.And I don't care if

my comments are marked as negative.Happy New

    Year to you!

  • I'm old school and had two conservatory private

teachers, both Segovia Students who don't follow

that line of thought.Foolish Facial Expressions do

nothing to enhance a performance. They distract

more than anything.Besides, when a player keeps

a straight face,it is not in anyway boring or cold.

  • Then perhaps the audience should be paying attention to the music and not the performer's face. If a performer spends so much time controlling their facial expressions, I have to wonder how much time they have left to actually do things like, uh, play the music well.

  • Well,I guess the audience would have to close

their eyes, right? And yes,the music is the most

important element! Facial expressions like this

    guy's are better suited for Rock,Heavy Metal,or

Thrash Metal. That's my feeling on the matter and

probably an "old school" way of thinking.

  • Have you been to Pavel's concert? You have no idea how foolish you look to the ones who know and understand him :)

  • haha yeah just look at steve vai.

  • dude listen, Steve Vai had been my fave since I was 13, I am 33 now, and trust me, you can't compare the two, both are extremely innovative musician, (don't be two dimensional) upen up a bit Ha. all the best to ay

  • They probably also enhace acoustics: our body is a resonator and our mouth is the most flexible one...

  • You know nothing about me,so keep those foolish

    comments to yourself.

  • I really apreciated you posted this video leonnel,i saw him live and he is pure magic. Thanks

  • i really wanted to share it

  • Is great but the second part is really amazing!!!
