Jimmy's an important character from the comics, let's throw him in Smallville!" But then towards the end of Season 8 someone told them "You guys know that Jimmy's supposed to be WAY younger than Lois & Clark, right?" So the producers thought "Crap... We are really going to screw fans over with this one..."

Chloe makes me so mad with her relationship with Oliver, leaving him a letter talking about how he was the love of her life. What about Jimmy? I feel so bad for "Henry". He deserved someone who truly loved him and I don't think she really did. She was always hung up on Clark, then she was hung up on Davis (but blamed that on Clark), and after a 5 month relationship with Oliver that was mostly a booty call he's the love of her life.

I personally think that the time had come for chloe to move on. Yes chloe and clark had good relationships back in season5 , season 6 and season 7. They worked together well. I do think that chloe appearance in smallville should have ended in seson 8.

I mean most people that were close to clark are all gone, mother , farther, Lana Lang, pete ross and Lionel Luthor. Clark is moving to a new phase of his life and so I do thing Chloe's character should end in season 8.

True - I just hate when it's overplayed. They have a habit of going overboard in some of them - there's no need to simply KILL everyone to emphasise it. Nor should they constantly give him a new love interest every movie, like they did in the 80's-90's Batman films. At least the Nolan films explain it better - it's much more fluid there.

um, i think you missed my point. during the whole time "Jimmy" played by Aaron Ashmore was on Smallville Jimmy was not his middle name. his name was James Olsen and they called him Jimmy. the writers who have taken over, because Millar and Gough have turned the show over, decided to become more true to canon so they made Jimmy not the real Jimmy so they could have a younger one. Henry wasn't his middle name in SV either if you were paying attention to the clip, it was apparently his first name.

Aaron did a fantastic job playing Jimmy Olsen as he was portrayed both in the comics & in the old movies. he was set up as "The real Jimmy" & then suddenly when the old writers left & it was put in new hands who wanted to be more in line with the mythos & the fact Jimmy was several years younger than Lois and Clark, they came up with this half brained scheme. now i'm all for getting back to Superman mythology like way less Lana and way more Lois but the Jimmy thing was unnecessary.

Agreed. Alfred G and Miles M. were much more BOLD in their writing, more original. Why did it suddenly transpire that Aaron's Jimmy WASN'T the original? It just goes with the repetitive theme in SV of 'following in his footsteps'. It was good before, but it gets weak.

But I admire how they depicted Jimmy's redemption and death, and what it symbolised. It also sets up Clark's 'darkest hour' for Season 9.

But GOD, the show is now far too angsty. If CHLOE dies I'll ignore what happens next
