Umm, the U.S. Military has been using armored amphibious vehicles for a LONG time. The AAV-7A1 and it's variants are simply re-brandings of old technology with some new gadgets and improvements. This thing has really been around since the early 1970's, and earlier versions of the same technology including the old LVTP-7 from WWII. Nothing personal, but you should do some research before posting a comment like this, because it makes you sound lazy and ignorant.
