I use VST technology instead of vintage devices (too expensive) or modern effects (not suited). Chain is made of a USB audio interface connected to a portable PC and back to the Amp. PC acts as effect processor. I use VSTHost software for this, and a set of various VST, each designed for a given effet, such as eTap2 vintage echo, tube saturation, reverbs, equalizer, etc... I have designed one patch for every title. This is a cheap and light solution.
