Refer back to my original comment and notice the other name there. The Father of All Creation is the Cornerstone of the church and we are to teach (if that is our calling) as He taught. It's just that simple. Jesus taught humility, brokeness, love for thy neighbor and sacrifice of self- including finances.
i wanna point out that though God forgives any sin no matter what it is, there is one sin mentioned in the bible that is unforgivable and that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit!! i can't say that a person won't go to heaven because of this becoz i don't know since that is up to God to decide but just to warn people in advance.

@Visda58very reasonable. for many reasons. God created the universe and we were created for worship. He decides how it goes whether we feel its reasonable in our puny little minds or not. The holy spirit is a gentle and fragile part of God & because of your rebellion you did it knowing what the consequences are. its no different than being told not to kill and you do it anyway to test God and then saying is it reasonable for you to damn me to hell for murder? so it IS reasonable.

Jesus never held back with regards to a person's sin. He told them the truth for their own good. People begged Him to leave their cities and even tryed to hoist Him over a cliff! Jesus is our example and we should never water down the gospel message which is simply "Repent and believe God".
Joel is a regular guy that thought he'd try the ministry "business" and cannot be called by God. He is confused and not very educated on the cause of Christ. He does more harm than good!

Joel Osteen is better than the Bible. The Bible is awful. The Bible is not a message from a God, and there is no good reason to think it is. Being a decent human is quite a simple idea, and does not require supernatural instructions.

@Visda58 Well, the fact that it tells the future in the prophets, matches up with archeology, teaches us about science more than science could tell us about science, and that it is the most well manuscripted book in the history of the word. Just to name a few reasons.
@zachp95 What specific prophecies have come to pass that you consider to be evidence that the Bible is the word of God? How did the Earth harbor plant life BEFORE THE SUN EXISTED? In fact, how did the Earth exist at all? Do you know that planets and solar systems form out of accretion disks that surround stars? The Biblical creation story contradicts science. Also, "well manuscripted" does not equal "Word of God". Name a few more reasons.

@Visda58 Joel is better than God? I just wish the true love of Jesus Christ was somehow taught in a way that all of our hearts would be filled with compassion. Not ONCE does Osteen mention, in ANY of his interviews or sermons, that his goal is to preach the TRUTH. Which if he did would, obviously, include details about the nature of sin(see the letter of James) and the consequences for those who PRACTICE sin and are unrepentant.

He states himself that he aims his sermons at Christians. He teaches you to change your thinking to be in the will and favor of God. And for many people, to do that is not 'feel good', it is a difficult assignment. Is that what your problem is?

This dude plants the seed (like paul did) and then someone else comes and keeps the seedlings (like apollos and paul's other disciples). Think about how many people this guy teaches about Jesus. In fact, how did the Earth exist at all? Do you know that planets and solar systems form out of accretion disks that surround stars? The Biblical creation story contradicts science. Also, "well manuscripted" does not equal "Word of God". Name a few more reasons.

I wish everyone would feel loved and that we could make our own decisions on what leaders are OK for us to watch and let other alone. I actually like Joel. @cheeriosinabowl Sin just means missing the mark. It's used in the Bible when archers missed the bullseye. Another way of saying missing perfection. Personally, I haven't seen a perfect person yet so it doesn't seem to be an invention.
