we dont need anymore manned flights to space, its a waste of money. The telescopes we have now are all we really need. There are too many needs in this country that need to be addressed first like hunger, poverty, medicines, disaster response etc.

If people think we are allowed (In body form) on other planets, think again. Shuttle and Constellation are both too dangerous and costly. Falcon9 (not even mentioned in this video (bad reporting)) will be the safest rocket ever built to carry humans and only costs 50 million a flight. Shuttle is 1.7 billion per flight and Constellation will cost as much or more.

@TheAmericanCanadian Because they're really hasn't been a warming.Over the summer they're was a heat wave in Japan.Extreme temperature for that area.People said global warming.It was a solar flare.I know for a fact it was not global warming because where I lived there was record LOW temperature.That's basically all the scientist have.The industrial revolution has a had a n impact.Look at China.All the factories there have caused the air to be horribly polluted.
The reason it was cold where you live is because ice in the polar regions is melting. when it melts, it cools down the surrounding water and messes up the currents that move cold and warm water to different areas. obviously your area got cold water, which means cold air.

You don't need to russians to transport our astronauts to the ISS. They already contract the Elon Musk's SpaceX company to transport astronauts to the space station with there Dragon Space Capsule.
@ActiveStorage well... i have great respect for john glenn and his monumental achievement in US history, but remember, he's from a different age, back when it was us AGAINST Russia. His spaceflights took place during the bitter Cold War, and he has a different view of Russia, even after the USSR collapse. And it certainly is an international space station, although we did spearhead its inception and construction. But the Russians are our friends and are helping our astronauts into space now.
