i make my coffee with an 10 euro coffee machine..
i grind the beans with an very very old hand grinder..
it works great.. and the coffee machine was cheaper than any french press i could find! and the coffee taste about as good to be fair.. one point.. i need 2 times more beans per cup in the machine to get the same taste so i might end up spending more but it is easyer to do...
nobody has sent you their beans....fag. you're a fucking nobody. in fact, you look like the steroetypical child fondler. so is drinking coffee out of a paper cup like sucking a shank with a condom on? you just prefer it that way....ha ha ha.
People who have commented about drip is better than french press... you are not at fault here. this guy is an idiot. You either do not have a developed pallet or your weight and steep was wrong, which is not your fault if you followed this retard's instruction.
OK now, I've been a competetive barista for six years, and you are polluting coffee education. remove this video from youtube. You are killing the consumers idea of the french press. Go to a freaking workshop before you educate people on coffee, you jackass!
I would like to personally bash everything you have just told people in this video. First of all, you disregard proper weight and grind in this video. And you do bring water to a boil and let it simmer to 185 degrees F. But wait, I've got more crap to call you out on.
Last time I bought Petes was at the store, a Major Dikenson's Blend. Tasted bad, I mean like tar with bitter water. Something went wrong with the quality control. I am reluctant to purchase another Pete's blend. And I am a Petes fan from a past life.
I actually walked into a starbucks at the atlanta airport and ordered a cup of "black coffee" the teeny bopper behind the counter looked like she just crapped a brick. and said um is that like expresso, cappucino or what? I looked at her and said no no no just black coffee, she then said oh lemme find out if we can make that, she came back and said that no one there knows how to make black coffee. Moral of the story, Starbucks employees in general are idiots, Make your own!!!
@woohog1 Are you sure? Every Starbucks I've ever been to has at least two containers of regular black coffee right behind them at the register. I get black coffee 99% of the time I go there.
Oh well, good luck making your own coffee at the airport in Atlanta.
No you fucking don't, you fucking Pleb. You make sure that you saturate all of the grounds as you pour the hot water into the press. Learn to fucking brew coffee, moron.
good job I was getting tired of my 10 cup coffee maker So I started looking for other ways ,,But after an hour at it now im lost ..Now I just pour the hot H2O from a pan into my C. maker and watch it run over the beans because i know that the C maker will only get to 180 deg.
Shaken vs.stirred, cream vs. no cream, brand of beans, these are all personal preferences. However, if you buy pre-ground beans you are by definition using stale coffee after you've had them a couple of days. Also, the coffee should not be left in the press, but should be poured into an appropriate container. If left in the press, it will continue to steep and leach bitterness out of the beans. The longer it is left in the press, the more bitter the coffee. A vacuum carafe does nicely for this.
yeah my girlfriend loves coffee she loves dunkin donuts for some reasona dn she always get the great pone and i save the cups cause i love it to but i like my own home amde but yeah i like the 22 ounce coffee and my girl just gets tons of it she broguht home 5 great ones yesterday and she and her 4 friendds all drank coffee and i was left with my own brew and i love making coffee i am told that i make wonderful coffee so yeah. Dunkin donuts great one cup ftw
I use what's called a Cafetera, thats the italian name, I don't know the english name. You put water in it along with the ground coffee, put it on the stove and when it boils it brews the coffee for you perfectly. That's my routine!
You bash Starbucks yet you support Peet's...doesn't make sense. They both equally mass produce shitty coffee. Find a local roaster and taste real coffee.
Dude, the only way to drink REAL coffee is to drink it black - no sugar, no milk, no creme, no BS! Just black! And you don't use "a wooden chopstick", you have to let it blend naturally, so gently shake the press. You were good with the pouring (pour / shake / pour) I drink about 5-10 deciliters of coffee pr. day and I always make it at home..:)
ice coffe is lovely its realy refreshing my trick it to have brita filterd water boiled slightly with brown or white sugar until desolved then placed in ice cube freezing blocks then frozen, then add all your frozen sugar & water blocks into a glass while pouring coffee into it, mix it with a spoon to seperate it out then add warm cream
if you dont want cream or milk simpley blend the coffee and sugar & water blocks together and add a little bit of briter filterd water to slightley fill it up more.
thanks a lot! I was having issues with my press....just now realizing it was the grind....I actually picked up my press for 1.99 and it was the best two-dollar investment i've ever made! the quality is astounding, and i'll never go back to fast food coffee....
I agree..we need more Peet's but it takes a while to build a biz. They are not in debt and they work with their own capital so they can only expand at a certain rate.
ummm... Why don't you get a decent burr grinder and grind the coffee 1 minute before brewing. That makes the biggest difference in flavor instead of buying preground "stale" coffee.
Oh yeah. This video was unnecessarily long too. All can be explained in less than 1 minute.
For me, nothing compares to Peet's "Sulawesi-Kalosi", made with a gold foil filter. The gold filters are also relatively inexpensive, and with care can last forever. Sulawesi-Kalosi costs a bit more, but is worth it... Complex but never bitter.
I just purchased the Tassimo from Braun and it uses the pod system. The cool thing is that the pods have a barcode on it and tells the machine what your going to brew. Thus it set's the amount of water, Duration of Brew Very High tech. The French press is two old fashion for me :-) The Tassimo would look great on your desk
the trick to making good coffee at home is a quality coffee machine. i have a Saeco brand Espresso maker, and it makes very good tasting coffee. also grinding the beans yourself just before you make it enhances the taste as well :)
I buy Starbucks, but it isnt the same when you make it at home. I am going to try Pete's as I've heard from others that this is the best. I heard Dunkin Donuts coffee is good as well. Anyone try making this at home?
