That is what has really gotten to me about this whole healthcare thing. They pass this massive bill and than when asked about it, Pelosi either jokes or dodges the question. Why should she worry though she has a health plan for life, and is from a wealth family. She has no idea what it is like to worry about healthcare costs. A large percentage of those driven into debt by healthcare were people with insurance. Something needs to be done, but less radical is all I'm saying.
life, liberty,or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation
the problem there is not the 5th amendment itself. What the framers had in mind with taking private land for public use was only for extreme situations. not to build a strip mall or a parking lot, just compensation must be given, but today you dont get that its not the fault of the amendment its the fault of corupt greedy politics and bussnesmen
I understand that. All I'm suggesting is that many right-wing Americans and politicians use the constitution as a model for their actions, when in reality they have free reign to interpret it as loosely as their needs see fit. I live in CT and the issue of Eminent domain pushed a dozen people out of their homes; the land cleared as a result never even had anything built on it, so they lost their homes for nothing.
Strict Constructionists aren't always right. All I'm saying.
No where in the Constitution does it give congress the power to force the American Citizens to purchase any commodity whether it be good for them or not? No where in the Constitution does it give congress the power to fine the American Citizens for not purchasing this Unconstitutional Commodity?
Either these members of congress don't understand the Constitution or they're; Power Hungry, Self-Serving, Liars, that need to be intoduced to the UNEMPLOYMENT LINES!

She's as Arrogant now as King George III was during the time of the American Revolution, but time has an odd way of turning the tables.

Are you serious?
It would seem that she's implying that belief that the Constitution is still the law of the land is like believing in the tooth fairy?

For all fans of Strict construction, look up Eminent Domain, and how your wonderful government uses the constitution to justify that.
Then come back here and tell me how much you love your constitution.
