@camiloveskiwi You did such an amazing video to show us how to use difference brushes to do eyeliner. I am grateful to your time devoted to all your videos. People like ancarapid should be shamed of himself or herself. Thank you again...
@troubleinlipstick Not sure I'd get on with it, but I've always been tempted! I've been training myself with the same style of brush since age 13/14, so when I tried the angled 266 from MAC I had huge issues, I reckon it could be the same with the bent one, I'm just stuck in my ways like an old lady :(
@camiloveskiwi I wrote this before i finished watching the video! now that i think about it it wouldnt be a good brush for you since you like a "fine" line type of look/brush. that one is a little too thick!
@troubleinlipstick hahaha, well it was a long video. I think someone else might find the comment useful though as bent eyeliner brushes seem to be very popular :)
I watched this video last night and...today I actually have a perfectly winged eyeliner...it just worked!! So thanks!!! Your little technique for the flick was great! And yes I also think that you have incredibly Angelina-esque eyes! Gorgeous!
great tutorial, thanks! very in depth :) I've heard the MAC 263 as opposed to the 266 is better as it has synthetic hairs, so good for gel eyeliners...maybe that's why you might dislike the 266? I hate when my brushes absorb product ! Just a thought xx
@lindsfinan8 It's not so much the brush, I just don't get on with angled brushes for eyeliner! I spent years (since age 13) learning how to do perfect liquid liner and always used the straight brush, so have the art/knack and the right movements required of my hand completely perfect, whereas with the 266, I only used that for the first time a few years ago, so it's much less natural for me to use :) xx
I'm sort of late on watching this video..obviously.. lmao. But I'm so glad you mentioned the Clinique gel liner. I've been looking for a really good gel liner for awhile. I don't mind the MAC Blacktrack but I know it's not that great either. Also, that LY brush.. WANT. lol
I'm a gel gal, followed by liquid; forget pencil. The Clinique is the final black gel on my w/l. If you like the thinner Clinique consistency you'll probably like Wet 'n Wild; real nice & cheap. Not a BB or Blacktrack fan. Hate Jane & Hip. LOVE LOVE Shu Uemura (blackest black ever)& MAC's Chromographic (asphalt black). Chromographic applies/spreads like butter.
Will definitely try out Atalier(sp.) transforming gel. Using dc'd SB -- Love. Have MAC eye medium & MUFE eye seal on-hand to try.
Impeccable precision!!! Probably the best winged e/l (& e/l app.) tut ever. Thank you! I'm definitely going for the LY24 instead of a MAC 209 backup.
Of the several liquid e/l I tried, I'm quite pleased w/ MAC liquidlast. The new MUFE Liquid Aqua Liner is horrendous as it's very thin/watery. The only other liquid I want to try is UD's new one as it's getting rave reviews on Sephora, AND it' 3x the product of MUFE for less $ & liquidlast for only several $ more. Who doesn't like value? ;)
@summerblu thank you, such a sweet comment! I liked Liquidlast for the staying power, but the brush was something I wasn't crazy on! I'm also really looking forward to the new Urban Decay one, I can't wait to try it once my current one has run out. I'll never use pencil ever - I don't really get it when people do, as I like a crisp, sharp line, not a smudgy faded one :) Thanks for the Shu recommendation I will DEFINITELY be getting that when my Clinique is out! :)
@camiloveskiwi Can't you use use a different brush w/ the liquidlast? I love the MAC LE uber-fat Pentaliner liquid liner (just released LE). Formulas OK, but the felt tip is to die for. Probably won't buy it again as it's $20 (the same amount of product as Liquidlast/ MUFE), & if the UD is as great as Sephora reviews say, it's 3x more product for $18. Value! Since you'll get the UD 1st lmk what you think. & lmk what you think of the Shu when you get it. Don't forget about Wet 'n Wild. ;)
Thank you for taking the time to make a real tutorial; great info and actual visual explanations as well (I hope that makes sense, right now everything sounds grammatically [again] incorrect. I'm sorry). And I just have to say it: Your eyes are so beautiful. The eyes of a Disney-princess, stunning even without makeup! (And you're probably sick of hearing it, but you look so much like Kate Winslet.. Have that same old Hollywood-kind of beauty.) OK, enough creepy for today; simply: Thank you.
@WithinThisMe thank you so much for your lovely comment, it was far too flattering :) I actually never realised I looked like Kate Winslet until I started blogging and having to take pictures of my own face very frequently, hahaha. People don't say it very often though, so it must just be in certain photos :) And enough from me too; simply: you're welcome :)
That's awesome. Thanks! I agree with whoever said your voice is calming. The biggest problem I have is keeping both eyes even. I do great eyeliner on both but it's so hard to get it even or even be able to tell that it's uneven at all.
@CATsEyeTeam thank you, that's so lovely of you to say :) Some days I can't get my eyes even either, don't worry! My eyes are wonky too - one is higher than the other - so I spend ages trying to figure out if the flicks are at the right angle, sigh :(
@snowwpea You're welcome! The brush is the Louise Young LY24, it's a fine sable brush. I just checked on their website though and they have a super-duper fine one now called the LY24A, so I'll be definitely buying that. The Louise Young brushes are extremely good, and I like them because they are finer than MAC ones :)
I wrote this on your channel wall (?) too, but I just wanted to say that I am so glad that I came across your make up tutorials because NO ONE has dark hair and blue eyes, AND has videos that are actually substantial! I love how you do your make up and yeah! I definitely subscribed after I watched like 2 minutes of one of your videos (:
@CuteCouture07 haha slightly - I think my voice sounds like a horrible foghorn! But sadly, I'm also guilty of falling asleep while watching some people on Youtube... :(
@camiloveskiwi not really in the info bow at all and theres not aanything in the video so yea cause i skipped cause all i wante to know is how to do it.
@danteandashley1 *shrug* the information is presented in 3 different formats, including clickable time-stamps in the description box, so there's really not much more I can do by way of making it extremely obvious, however I'm glad you took the initiative and skipped to the part you wanted to watch.
@soflybistoufly Well I did use two different brushes and wasn't aiming perfection in that sense, so one eye would've been thicker anyway. But I think it's very difficult to get it perfect perfect perfect anyway unless you're ambidextrous and your face is perfectly symmetrical, so I take your comment as a compliment :)
I've watched soooo many tutorials trying to find one that had the winged look i wanted, gave clear instructions, AND included the product list...this was perfect!! thx so much for uploading =)
really helpful video, i've been trying to figure out liner for such a long time and you've got all the info i wanted to hear from someone! so thank-you! :)
@ailyt So glad you found it useful! :) I've had some really irritating comments on this video by people not reading the information box and so on so I've kind of come to dread comments on here now! But at least yours was nice :)
@Siidrakhalil Yep, and it says in the information box AND in the video where the actual tutorial is. And it even says the order of what I'm going to be discussing first, AND, if that wasn't enough, even gives the time stamps for you to click on! It truly can be that easy. This video was DESIGNED for you to skip specific parts.
I'm wanting to buy a liquid eyeliner- I've got Fluidline at the minute, but find using a brush in the morning just takes too long- I was thinking about the Shiseido one or the MAC one- which would you recommend? Also, have you tried the MAC Penultimate one? Would be really grateful for any advice :)
@peacockshat The Shiseido one is unfortunately discontinued, but if you're in/near London, I have it on good authority that a shop in Westfield is/was selling them! I think the MAC one isn't very precise, but a good, solid product... And MAC Penultimate was a disaster! I bought it, got 3 uses from it and then it just ran out, despite storing it upside down! I'd go for either Estée Lauder Doublewear or Urban Decay myself - EL is nice and black, longwearing & UD is lovely to use, very good brush x
@camiloveskiwi Oh ok, I shall definitely stay clear of the Penultimate then! You always expect pen ones to run out eventually, but after 3 uses is just ridiculous. I think I will go for the Urban Decay if the brush is a little better. Thanks :)
@Gabby4you Nope, it's exactly the right length. There are time stamps for you to click ahead to the parts you want to watch - which by the way was probably around 3 minutes total. Not especially difficult.
For the exema( not sure if I spelled it right) I have it too. Try an oatmeal bath and vasaline. It's hereditary in my family:/ hope it helps. Love the tutorial
This is SO helpful! I've been trying to decide which Louise Young liner brush to order, and this is the first video I've seen that compares them side by side. Think I'll go with the LY24. Thank you!
@bittersweetjess I'm so glad you found it useful! It's actually by chance that I even own all three - I wrote how much I loved their brushes in their shopping cart box when I bought another brush and they sent me a freebie saying 'thanks for your continued custom'. They are such a lovely company to buy from :)
@pookieluv0523 Obvious comment is stating the obvious. If you had watched the video, read the description box or even read the title (which more than hints at the nature of the video), you'd know that this video is split up into 5 sections, with time stamps provided for each one so you can pick and choose for ease of viewing, making watching only the relevant parts very easy for you. Product/brush recs are useful to some, so bitching I talk too much is pointless and a waste of pixels.
@LunasyEstrellaz No idea! I had an itchy face for a week before in those specific areas and then boom - eczema everywhere! Perhaps my diet has not been doing it any favours recently :( Glad you enjoyed the tutorial though :)
Hi there, great tutorial thanks. I am a pro makeup artist and happened by your tutorial looking for reviews on faceatelier transforming gel. I just wanted to mention that I too had eczema on my face and upper arms (ubove the eyebrows). I started taking omega 3's everyday and sprinkling Chia seeds (like the Chia pet, but organic and fda approved) on my yogurt and in smoothies and my eczema went away within 2 weeks. Look it up. I'm serious. It works. :)
@HappyHapagirl Oh the FACE atelier Transforming Gel is wonderful! I worked with FACE atelier this weekend at London IMATS as they needed some help (as their cash register girl, haha!) and I got to play with the Transforming Gel with pigments a lot. It really saturates the colour and doesn't crease or crack when you use it as an eye base to paint pigments over the lid. Apparently it also contains cucumber extract so it's good for bringing down puffiness (particularly on brides, apparently!) :)
@HappyHapagirl Ran out of space... Thank you for your comment regarding the eczema. I'm definitely not getting enough omega 3's so I'll pick some up tomorrow - but I'd completely never heard of this Chia seeds method so I'm off to do some googling! Thanks for the tip :D
@ndreaftw1989 haha thank you! I never considered myself odd-looking before, but when you follow it up with the adjective beautiful... well! I couldn't hate you for that ;)
This has got to be the BEST tutorial I have seen on how to do the winged eye look! Thank you for taking the time to do this! Really detailed and the close up shots were very helpful! Can't wait to try this now!! thanks again Linda
great tips and recs! You are truly the eyeliner queen, I love the look of that Shisedo thingy. Also tempted by the cake eyeliner from Illamasqua.. xx <3
@denizandmakeup Apparently the Shiseido liner's been discontinued *cries pathetically* I'd avoid the Illamasqua cake liners - I have the grey one and my one fades and cracks by the end of the day now :/ Apparently the Kryolan ones are awesome though and much cheaper! <3 xx
@camiloveskiwi aww shucks about the shishedo. arrghhh make-up companies and their stupid discontinuation!!! thanks for the tip on the Illamasqua! I neeeeed to check out Charles Fox like, yesterday already.. xx <3
@ZoeGeorge84 I've only swatched it in the shop, but I found it a bit hard and draggy, which made it a little difficult to get a smooth line - I kind of got a bit of a jagged edge from it. xxx
@danalindsey78 I bought them from an Illamasqua counter - though unfortunately I have no idea where they are sold in the US, though the website does ship internationally but it's a little expensive - £7.50.
There's a fragment of light reflecting onto your upper lip-it took me ages to figure out what it was! It was really distracting me. Your skin doesn't look awful btw -I wish my skin looked as good as yours! x
@cherrybeau I know - it's so annoying! It was the mirror right next to me but I didn't know it was there until I reviewed the video :( All the rest of it went so well that I thought 'screw it...' and uploaded it :) Thank you for your lovely comment about my skin - it's such a mess in real life so although I'm uploading in HD, I'm glad it's not crystal clear for once :D x
@pullthetrigger Haha, you should have seen the first video I made for this - they looked so big they were out of proportion... all bulbous and freaky-looking!
@rocaillefilms YAY so glad you liked it! You should definitely try pigments and glitters - they are so much fun! A bit of a bitch to remove though... x
Cami I love this video it is brilliant. Thank you for doing the tutorial. I have never used glitter and I will try it out. You have quite and impressive eyeliner collection. If you used Hyrdocortizone it should help your skin. You look beautiful as ever. I love your videos and look forward to them. Have a great day! X Becki
@VictoriasRoses Thank you my love, and you are so welcome! The glitter is quite fun though getting off is quite a challenge - I had glitter everywhere for the whole day! x
@bugeyedpet Nooo, it's the reflection of light bouncing off the mirror I think! Is it light-coloured and does it keep moving over my face? Sorry... I only noticed it afterwards but the rest of the video went well so I just left it in :(
@camiloveskiwi oh yeaaa you're right. well putting that aside, it's a great video!! i love how your videos are long yet you don't ramble. you actually make sense, ha ha! thumbsies upsies :D
@bugeyedpet Whoops, sorry for posting that twice :) And I have no idea what you're talking about - I think I'm the rambliest person I've ever met :D I try not to make such long videos but sometimes I'm unable to cut bits out otherwise the rest of it makes NO SENSE... :D
@Beautifu1B1urr You are so lovely! Thank you for your comment - I always feel a bit naked without my eye makeup on, but everyone is always so nice to me when I don't wear it :)
@camiloveskiwi Most gurus on here receive a lot of hate when they come on video with no make up.But when I saw you come on in this video I was like wow, she looks lovely with no make up on. I know what you mean, I feel naked without my eye make up on and my brows filled in lol
cracking video poppet! i too am having a terrible facial eczema time-ON MY EYE AND MY CHEEK AND CORNERS OF MY MOUTH! I resemble a salami at the moment. However, 1% hydrocortisone cream helps :) xxxxxxxx
@xxaymezxx thank you amypudding! ON YOUR EYE?! WHAT. That sounds absolutely hideous and I am sympathetic! I am still trying to figure out why I have eczema on the top of my eyebrows - just WHY?! It makes no sense :( I am massively loath to use hydrocortisone on my face but I think it's going to be a must if I want it to go away! xxxxx

@danteandashley1 *shrug* the information is presented in 3 different formats, including clickable time-stamps in the description box, so there's really not much more I can do by way of making it extremely obvious, however I'm glad you took the initiative and skipped to the part you wanted to watch.

@danteandashley1 thank you :)

@soflybistoufly Well I did use two different brushes and wasn't aiming perfection in that sense, so one eye would've been thicker anyway. But I think it's very difficult to get it perfect perfect perfect anyway unless you're ambidextrous and your face is perfectly symmetrical, so I take your comment as a compliment :)
camiloveskiwi 8 months ago
I've watched soooo many tutorials trying to find one that had the winged look i wanted, gave clear instructions, AND included the product list...this was perfect!! thx so much for uploading =)

ailyt 8 months ago
@ailyt So glad you found it useful! :) I've had some really irritating comments on this video by people not reading the information box and so on so I've kind of come to dread comments on here now! But at least yours was nice :)
camiloveskiwi 8 months ago
u took around 10 minutes to TALK....:S i had to skip all the way through to the actual tutorial...
Siidrakhalil 9 months ago

Would be really grateful for any advice :)
peacockshat 9 months ago
@peacockshat The Shiseido one is unfortunately discontinued, but if you're in/near London, I have it on good authority that a shop in Westfield is/was selling them! I think the MAC one isn't very precise, but a good, solid product... And MAC Penultimate was a disaster! I bought it, got 3 uses from it and then it just ran out, despite storing it upside down! I'd go for either Estée Lauder Doublewear or Urban Decay myself - EL is nice and black, longwearing & UD is lovely to use, very good brush x
camiloveskiwi 9 months ago
@camiloveskiwi Oh ok, I shall definitely stay clear of the Penultimate then! You always expect pen ones to run out eventually, but after 3 uses is just ridiculous. I think I will go for the Urban Decay if the brush is a little better. Thanks :)
peacockshat 9 months ago
too long ...
Gabby4you 9 months ago
@Gabby4you Nope, it's exactly the right length. There are time stamps for you to click ahead to the parts you want to watch - which by the way was probably around 3 minutes total. Not especially difficult.

They are such a lovely company to buy from :)

u talk to much!!.. really ..20 minutes on an eyeliner tutorial?
pookieluv0523 1 year ago
@pookieluv0523 Obvious comment is stating the obvious. If you had watched the video, read the description box or even read the title (which more than hints at the nature of the video), you'd know that this video is split up into 5 sections, with time stamps provided for each one so you can pick and choose for ease of viewing, making watching only the relevant parts very easy for you. Product/brush recs are useful to some, so bitching I talk too much is pointless and a waste of pixels.

I'm sorry about your skin. What triggered the reaction on your face? You still look beautiful though. Great tutorial Chica!!!!
Thank you.

It works. :)
HappyHapagirl 1 year ago
@HappyHapagirl Oh the FACE atelier Transforming Gel is wonderful! I worked with FACE atelier this weekend at London IMATS as they needed some help (as their cash register girl, haha!) and I got to play with the Transforming Gel with pigments a lot. It really saturates the colour and doesn't crease or crack when you use it as an eye base to paint pigments over the lid. Apparently it also contains cucumber extract so it's good for bringing down puffiness (particularly on brides, apparently!) :)
camiloveskiwi 1 year ago
@HappyHapagirl Ran out of space... Thank you for your comment regarding the eczema. I'm definitely not getting enough omega 3's so I'll pick some up tomorrow - but I'd completely never heard of this Chia seeds method so I'm off to do some googling! Thanks for the tip :D

great tips and recs! You are truly the eyeliner queen, I love the look of that Shisedo thingy. Also tempted by the cake eyeliner from Illamasqua.. xx <3
denizandmakeup 1 year ago
@denizandmakeup Apparently the Shiseido liner's been discontinued *cries pathetically* I'd avoid the Illamasqua cake liners - I have the grey one and my one fades and cracks by the end of the day now :/ Apparently the Kryolan ones are awesome though and much cheaper! <3 xx

@camiloveskiwi aww shucks about the shishedo. arrghhh make-up companies and their stupid discontinuation!!! thanks for the tip on the Illamasqua! I neeeeed to check out Charles Fox like, yesterday already.. xx <3

have you tried the NARS Eyeliner Stylo? any thoughts? thanks love, great video as always xxx
ZoeGeorge84 1 year ago
@ZoeGeorge84 I've only swatched it in the shop, but I found it a bit hard and draggy, which made it a little difficult to get a smooth line - I kind of got a bit of a jagged edge from it. xxx
camiloveskiwi 1 year ago
Where do you buy Illamasqua brushes? I live in the US and I've only seen that brand at Sephora and they do not sell the brushes in store or online
danalindsey78 1 year ago
@danalindsey78 I bought them from an Illamasqua counter - though unfortunately I have no idea where they are sold in the US, though the website does ship internationally but it's a little expensive - £7.50.

@bugeyedpet Nooo, it's the reflection of light bouncing off the mirror I think! Is it light-coloured and does it keep moving over my face? Sorry... I only noticed it afterwards but the rest of the video went well so I just left it in :(
camiloveskiwi 1 year ago
@camiloveskiwi oh yeaaa you're right. well putting that aside, it's a great video!! i love how your videos are long yet you don't ramble. you actually make sense, ha ha! thumbsies upsies :D

@bugeyedpet Whoops, sorry for posting that twice :) And I have no idea what you're talking about - I think I'm the rambliest person I've ever met :D I try not to make such long videos but sometimes I'm unable to cut bits out otherwise the rest of it makes NO SENSE... :D

cracking video poppet! i too am having a terrible facial eczema time-ON MY EYE AND MY CHEEK AND CORNERS OF MY MOUTH!

It makes no sense :( I am massively loath to use hydrocortisone on my face but I think it's going to be a must if I want it to go away! xxxxx
