Hope all went well in Peru. I have a friend who went & she had a gun put to her head within 3 hours of landing. All her belongings were then stolen. :( Have heard it is not safe at all going out once the sun sets.

I guess (like a lot of places) it depends where in Peru you go. I spent quite a lot of time in the dangerous places but still I would not say Peru is a place to be fearful of.

The part around Cusco (where the Incans lived) is astonishingly beautiful. The part around Lima (the capital) is dusty and barren. It's quite a contrast.
