I support gay marriage but that being said, you dont need it to be legal to get married. Marriage is between two people, if your religious go get a priest, he will marry yall. if your not religious, then why are you getting married? if your answer is not for the tax benefits and so on, then its because you want to mark the milestone in your commitment to eachother, in that case, what do you need a priest or a judge for? My point was that the Dixie Chicks are flaming liberals and many Prius (or other hybrid) owners don't necessarily care about the environment, they just like to show the world they do by driving one. If you researched it, the production of a Prius is actually more harmful to the environment then the emissions of a non-hybrid car.

A civil union is what state should be concerned about -- a license that the government utilizes for legal purposes between two consenting adults, i.e. taxes, death, child support, etc.. I think her answers are really vacuous. "I think that's phony balony" "This is a big issue" and the interviewer also doesn't ask any follow ups. Also his questions are just poor. "Who is your republican crush?", "Can conservatives have fun?". He should push her to acutally give specific, fact based answers. You have to have a license for concealed carry. In my state, open carry is legal. I can carry my sidearm in it's holster on my hip anywhere without a license. She's actually correct. It's not a human right, it's a *civil* right. Big difference, but civil rights should never be subject to a popular vote. They should be judged, granted or denied through the legislature and/or judicial system. Civil rights may stem from popular vote, but not passed through it.
She knows this, so she's using *human* intentionally to try to reframe the issue and deflect the legitimate criticism the interviewer brought up.
