  • NOW I KNOW I AM GOING TO MAKE A GOOD CHOOSE BUYING A ROLAND 700 GX, YOU ARE VERY TALENT AND THIS VIDEO HELP ME A LOT. AND YES I SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR CHANNEL. GREETINGS FROM MONTERREY MEXICO

  • @monterrey1952 The Roland is a good choice. I'm happy the video helped you and thanks for subscribing. :)

  • wonderful

  • @TheBassBoy337 danke! good luck with your bass playing!

  • i guess things like that bring your left hand to a new level thanks for sharing...

  • This is great! Thank you so much. Nice surprise at the end. Im impressed by your one handed playing. You're very talented and you've got great rhythm. I don't play piano and I don't know how to read music, but you really helped me learn this on piano so I can play it on the guitar which is my main goal. Thank you and thanks a bunch for the great music!

  • hey that's great that you learned this on the guitar! thanks for your comments. I heard Oscar Peterson do a left-hand- only piano solo in London once that blew my mind. i've always been influenced by Oscar's idea that the left should be as versatile as the right.

  • I'm learning this piece right now but not with one hand, you're truly talented. Like your 700 GX. I was about to get it and now I'm considering the new Korg DP, RV-1. How do you like the 700 GX? Anything you don't like about it?

  • The 700GX was my top choice out of several high-quality instruments because it has a keyboard that feels like ivory under your fingers and incredibly rich piano sounds. No complaints so far. I did try a Korg but the key feel was plastic, the polyphony was limited, and the piano sound wasn't great. I don't know about the RV-1. Good luck with your purchase whichever you choose!

  • That was great work, especially in the end at 5:14.

  • Thanks for listening and commenting :-)

  • Soli Deo Gloria! The Cello Suites (or, in this case, one of its parts) always bring me closer to God! Your interpretation is valid, I think.

  • omgcould you send me the tabs plase

    you are awesome!!!

  • sorry don't have tabs, learned it by ear :)

  • nice

  • thanks

  • Well, heck, if you're going to play it with the right hand free then you ought try improvising over-top with a different voice--something trumpet-like.

  • Yes, i did think about that but every time i added something it felt like trying to enhance a stained glass window using a small box of crayons. Bach is like that. btw, I looked at your channel and you have excellent taste in music.

  • Ah, in regards to Bach's habit of perfection, I know what you mean! The trick to it would be more in brief embellishments than a continuing melody--the nature of a solo is to stand alone after all and he certainly knew what he was doing... yet, I'm sure if anyone could supplement the prelude it would be Bach himself (now I want to attempt it in fun--I do a little amateur composition). Anyway, thank you for your approval of my musical taste and thank you for uploading this video--I enjoyed it!

  • "Nicht Bach soll er heißen, sondern Meer"(He should not be called Bach(=German 'brook'), but Sea) - Beethoven. Thank you so much for this interpretation. As long as Bach lives, western civilization will persevere.

  • well said in both languages! :)

  • I love this; play it with the left-hand only...it's a wonderful finger exercise as well as a beautiful melody (kind of liquid but yet with a little haunting over-tone to it).

  • thanks for all your comments! this is one of my favorite Bach preludes along with the prelude to the violin partita in E major which I might record later in the year.

  • Had to watch this again. I'm amazed that you only use one hand...One hand? Can only imagine you playing the organ!! LOL!

    Fantastic!

  • why only imagine? i could come and play your organ Jason. yours would be a two-hander of course, but if you're up for it, i'm up for it :-]

  • I remember when we used to play together. I don't think we would have a hard time getting a handle on things...as I recall we had the same size organ....mine still plays fine! I always wanted a bigger one but they say bigger isn't always better...but it would be nice to have more to play with...it would allow more fingering...of the keys that is!!! LOL!

  • Bravo! this played to my heart. Softening with it's gentleness in the beginning then allowing it to fully open that was expressed with the happy glow of a smile on the face. The picture at the end was the perfect expression of the heart chakra.

    love to you,

    queenoprana

  • i'm so happy you listened with your heart chakra! that's a treat for any performer.

  • Anthony, this was simply fabulous! I expected to prefer the traditionally rendered first segment, but no! I LOVED the amped up second movement!

The video was also interesting: the two hands seemed to become their own individual entities. No body connecting. Simply the left hand performing to the appreciation of the right hand. Was that your intent?

You are amazing. I am hoping you continue to pour your gifts out to the rest of us.

    love and hugs - Lynn

  • Yes, my intent was to make a musical interlude featuring the Addams Family character Thing! lol

  • This is lovely. I think it could do with some developing, although I can hear Bach turning in his grave as I say this.

  • I can hear Bach muttering from the grave, "I did develop it to perfection in the following five movements!" A great prelude can stand alone like a haiku.

  • Tony you never cease to amaze me! That was brilliant. I wasn't expecting the drum beat. I do not understand why you haven't considered recording a CD... at least a CD single...how about those cute little 3" cd singles you can buy at the store???

Love the pic at the end.

  • Jason, Bach wasn't expecting a drum beat either. ha!

i'll make a cd if you perform on it with me? i want you to make music again.

  • Bertha shouted,"Yes". The cats cried for more! The moon gleamed like a proud mother.

  • did Bertha shout 'yes' in Japanese? are you sure the cats weren't crying for more moon gleam?

  • she did actually, though we are both working on Hindi right now. The cats cry, the moon listens and replies by sending you more moon dreams for more songs. Ahh perfection!

  • Hi My Cherub Buddy!

I love it....such a great surprise, creative and well executed!!!!! BRAVO.....You kept my interest the whole entire time from the way you filmed it to the way you played it to its creative integration to the life in the right hand......Thanks sooooooo much for sharing! Love to you,

    Stephen
