Louis was a very introvert kid who being intimidated by other politicians. He wasn't ready to be a king, the only reason is because his father died. @Subywoby I agree with that and I understand your point of view but if he wanted to leave, it was for teh sake of his family. His wife could not go out without being insulted. The threat was real to them. And even if he planned to have his country back, and that is perfectly understandable, by force ( and I do not agree with this idea), when he left for Varennes, it was because he wanted to write and subit a new constitution to the parliament, far away from Paris and it dangerousness.
