It is easy to explain the theory behind the top spin but in reality most players dont even dare to execute like that. We see this kind of shot by some players on a trick shot show who practice thousand times at home before they present something like this. Jimmy does that when ever he thinks it is necessary! I have seen Alex Higgins , Ronnie and Jimmy have some extra creative thinking to make the game lively to watch.

Not a trick. It's topspin on the cueball. The ball bounces of the cushion but the spin on the ball made the ball "brakes". It's even possible for the cueball to bounces of the cushion and return back to that same cushion.

Look for examples in normal billiards my video's:" Martin van Rhee".
