@TsoLan1 Well spotted. Unfortunately the studio time I had with my toy dalek was limited and I completely forgot to film it from any other angles. This meant that when I flopped it in post production it mirrored the image, making the gun and sucker appear on the wrong sides.
Very good I'm surprised that Murray Gold music works well with this cos normally I cant stand his cacophonies.. Was this inspired by the title sequence of the Thunderbird film ?
@xenbear Thanks. I'm afraid I don't know what Thunderbirds sequence you are referring to. I think my main inspiration leaned more towards other animated title sequences from the 60s, such as the intro for The Pink Panther. I wanted something with a definite 60s flavour that I could recreate with the equipment I had at my disposal, although my rather limited drawing skills made filming a model Dalek a much more attractive option than trying to animate it myself.
@doctorwholover1993 Indeed they are. At the time I only had a new series gold RC Dalek at my disposal to film for the project. Had I the money I would have liked to have bought one of the RC Movie Daleks, but sadly I had neither the time or the budget.
@somewheretofit you should do the same intro again but put the new doctor who cast name in it and it would be great to make people think they are remaking dalek invasion earth
Just the two - Doctor Who and the Daleks and Daleks' Invasion Earch 2150AD, both based on the first two dalek stories in the TV show. They were going to make another film based on the third TV dalek outing, The Chase, but this sadly never happened.
Thanks! It's mainly just keyframe animation done in Adobe after effects. There are some background textures in there, photos of London with the colour taken out of them, a few drawings and cutouts and then some footage I shot of my 12" remote control Dalek. A week of editing later and this was what I came up with.
this would actually work if a remake was to be made [even though , in a vague and distant way "journey's end" did it to a small extent [the daleks DID take over earth]]
While I did enjoy the very kitsch nature of the original soundtrack, the sound quality was dated and in my opinion wouldn't have complimented the look I was after. I only just happened upon London Bridge by Murray Gold. I just felt that it helped the pace a lot more whilst sounding retro enough to set the mood of the film.
Tell you what then - although I've got four films in various stages of completion - when I get some time I'll grab the original music and put it to new titles. Then we can compare the two. In the meantime back to S******y
It's a combination of PhotoShop and After Effects, with some live action footage of a toy Dalek. It took about a week to make, from making the backrounds in PhotoShop, filming and then editing it all together.
This is seriously good - you have a bright future ahead of you in your chosen field if your work here is anything to go by. Now all we need is a funky, fast-moving, 60s inspired remake of the film itself to match!
Those Daleks are some groovy cats!

You've certainly got the feel of the typical 1960's title sequence.

Very good, my only drawback is that the dalek on the eft has its fenders the wrong way around. Other then that it was great!

those are the new series daleks, you can tell by the verticle slats, the transparent headlights and the super-sized plunger, but overall, nice work

Good work! I like how you used the music from "Rose", which itself has a 60's action film sound to it.

Thanks. It was more or less accidental. I'd bought the series soundtrack not long before making it and the more I listened the more it seemed to fit.
