The Baby Boomers, whatever their faults, helped initiate a period of change that actually made our society what it is today.
The Silent Generation (that cusp group that grew up in the shadow of their GG brothers and sisters during the 40's) also had a role in this during the 50's as they rebelled against the conservative mores of their parents and celebrated the blurring of black and white music and culture through whatever their limited means.
The Greatest Generation is respectable but as a Generation Y'er I also remember this as a generation that stood silent to a number of horrible forms of institutional racism, that upheld rather conservative notions of female place, and politically backed a rather vicious form of American patriotism and morality in the 1950's. Not to mention accepted and even Ok'ed the use of nuclear weapons on a country during war time (though that's a legitimate debate as to what to do to end the war).
wow thats amazing, I am a Milleniul, or gen Y whatever you wanna call me born in 1994, im 14. My Grandparents were both born in 1936, and they tell me about a world without tv, computers etc. many different things in my life today. I see the internet as my right, to information and my lifestyle. I text everyday and all day long im myspace facebook things that back then would probably not even be imaginable
PS.....I am new to the You Tube format and I see by visiting the bernie moran website that this is just a clip and the entire version of this video can be ordered...plan to do so......
Delightful....sounds like a really warm, loving reminisence of life and people in a time that should be shared and talked about with the current generation by those who still remember....

These two are the greater generations, imo.
