@datruking8 One reason might be because these are not professional singers and instrumentalists. For a small group they did a great job. I performed, Gloria with a 500 High School choir at Murray State. The faculty were the ones who played for us, so they were professionals.
When I hear this I think of a girl I sang this whole piece with in High School at Murray State in Kentucky. She passed away from Leukemia, and sang alto.
I am playing this in some collaboration between the music department and in the orchestral pieces the Ts looks like Js so Gratias agimus tibi it looks like Gratias agimus jibi lol
The only good thing about religion is religious music!... If I believed in God, it would be because of beautiful ecclesiastical pieces like this one. I believe there is no God or higher power, but there's definitively something 'divine' in Vivaldi's works! Too bad this version is a little slow...
Man, we toured Europe with this as our main thing (Gloria) with Norrkopings Boys Choir when i was about 11.. (13 yrs ago) haven't heard it since. Awesome!
Ehh too slow. Pretty good sound though!

@vanmoody I think of Robert Downey Jr performing it repeatedly in the film "Two Girls and a Guy" lol.

our choir did it waay faster than this.
& way better and we're in the 11th garde

@jerseygirl049 It's certainly not terrible. You're in 11th grade and already showing little respect for other musicians.
If you do end up working as a professional musician, one of the greatest lessons will be to respect other musicians regardless of ability.

I heard a version of et in terra pax, sung by woman, the tenor and bass part transposed up an octave. it was horrible... all the harmony was lost...

I sang this too, but we had an SSAA arrangement, no guys.

I'm guessing you were doing imitation of the Ospedale della Pieta, the school Vivaldi worked at and composed the Gloria at?
DannyDaWriter 4 years ago
Yeah, the inside cover mentioned something about that. (its been a while since i've seen the intro)

my shoir did this too...but our alto section was as big as the entire shoir...

Is a pitty so slow... a litle boring, and not always in tune. The poors violins... And the sopranos always a little base...
But a very nice effort.

We're singing this in our choir right now.
