A good example of Envelop construction, it has its uses. One of the many ways of dealing with the form. Thanks for posting this. Let them know that all construction lines should be lighter than the demonstration so they don't muddle up the drawing. The dark lines of the demo were intended to illustrate through video the concept but in the student drawing it must be lighter so drawing could be brought to a higher level of realism beyond the construction.
Yeah I'm sorry but you can't say people who don't use this technique can't draw in proportion. Myself and lots of other artists would never do this. You drew the right foot way on the wrong side of the dropdown vertical from her spine. The real way to draw proportionately is to measure on an ortogonal system: hights and widths and not at odd angles like you're showing.
dam i just used this today and that actually did work, i never would of thought something as weird as that would work, my drawings usually look way outta proportion, i can't wait to see a vid on head heights becaus that always and still does confuses me.
wow really nice video, i have never thought about doing something like that in my drawings, thanks so much for the help this will cut down trying to erase by a long shot
It´s nice to see different approaches to drawing here on youtube.

Too technical to hold the interest, formulaic drawing is always STIFF
What about individual expression and freedom???? Let yourselves go and reap the rewards, painters and scribblers!

You have to learn music theory first to create good music creatively. Same in art.
