Being from Oklahoma and Texas in the rural areas, the only Italian pizza I got was from going to Texas Tech at One Guy from Italy. Their crust is a bit on the thick side, but their pizza had a zesty flavor along with lots of cheese. I desire to have a NYC pizza someday.
New York pizza is the best because it has every taste. The charred bottom is bitter, the sauce is both sweet and tart, and the cheese is salty. My favorite was Gloria's in Flushing. I don't know if they are still in business but it was always the perfect pie.
