Unless my ears deceive me this is a shorter version of "The Old Circus Train Turn-Around Blues" which was given a more impassioned 11'25 minute outing on a Duke Ellington "Antibes Concert" LP recorded in August 1966. This was by far the best vehicle for Johnny Hodges's aggressive solo style - sandwiched between his romantic standards - such as "All of Me". For more of his "honking" recordings there are some great ones on Lonehill's 4-CD set of all his Verve albums with Wild Bill Davis. Enjoy!
