that sounded nothing like a rod, speaking from experience... lets do the math, engine spinnning 8500 rpms, meaning every connecting rod going up and down 8500 times a minute, and your telling me a blown rod just went POP POP and that was it? you should still have a connecting rod spinning down from 8500 rpms which is usually where most of the block damage is done spinning the connecting rod around into the block repeatedly.

What you're discribing is a snapped connecting rod still floating in the engine. This one punched a 3in asshole into the side of the block and was laying on the ground along with a few other odds and ends. BTW, where did you get 8500rpms from anyway?
