I agree man a very well done review! i agree with alot of these other comments beastwars was definitely what got me into transformers. Redo it or do another second part it is and always will be my fav trans era!! one more thing the best and most evil megatron ever!! my fav character esp towards the end.

I grew up during the 90's so I never saw the G! transformers show, but I have to say, I like the idea of robots turning into animals better than cars. That's just me though.

The only answer I have is what you told me, MikePetel. In the future or Generation 1, the Megatron (Original) timeline sent that Golden Disk off into space and another Megatron (some rogue Decepticon who took the name of Megatron during the peace alliance of the Autobots and Decepticons) went back into time to prevent the Autobots from winning the Great War but the problem is why the hell did they go back to PRIMITIVE EARTH? @_@ Damn it, I'm confused.. and I loved G1 Transformers but also BW.

only one mistakwe: megatron and optimus primal are not the direct descendants of the g1 megatron and optimus. the beast wars optimus and megatron took the names to honor the leaders

2:45, thats what I liked about season 1. Seasons 2 & 3, they didn't have to worry about energon build up any more, making their beast forms much less purposeful.

Your right, the quality of the CGI in this show is incredible. It was ahead of its time and stunning. Originally the series was supposed to be longer but they cut it short, but I can say this, unlike most TV shows in the 1990's at least this one had a series ending.

All Transformer shows should be animated like this show. As you pointed out, the animation, the writing, and the voice acting were all top notch, and incredible, surprised they were able to do the Dark stuff ya know?

Beast Wars was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. I really regret giving away my Beast Wars toys. Dinobot was my favorite.

i do have one minor point to make, it was claerly stipulated throught the series that while Primal and megatron bared resemblence to their G1 counterparts they were in no way related and that megatron took his name in honour of the original, primals name was never explained.

One thing I never understood about "Beast Wars": Why did the decendents of the Autobots and Decepticons begin calling themselves Maximals and Predacons within the 300 years after the great war? Because the series made it clear that both races were no longer called Autobots or Decepticons.

They mentioned during the first season that sometime after the Great War (G1) All transformers went through "the Great Upgrade"

in which they shrank in size, became more advanced (Internal computers they talk with) and Changed their faction names. They did this to mark a shift in their history and new adoption of organic technology, though many Transformers still remained vehicle based (On Cybertron).

The maximals and predicons are smaller, and more high tech, and who knows, it might be refrance to the maximals usually being cute fuzzy mammals, lol.

But I'm sure it's because of the newer technology that they use to live.

Thanks for the comment! I covered a lot in these 2 parts...maybe too much in a short time span and I still missed things...which I might cover in my Beast Machines review that's coming up. About the old Transformers movie versus the new ones...that's a tough one. I grew up with Beast Wars and I felt the rock music in the original Transformers Movie was quite odd and out of place. I feel the 2007 movie was the best one so far because it felt the most G1, plus the 1985 one killed off my favorites!

ya but the old one got balls for killing off the characters, the only kind of carnage i saw in transformers saga was in the armada series where megatron stabbed ironhids right through him and metal and sparks went everywhere and im like holy shit! then i saw the old transformers movie and when i saw people die in that i nearly shit my pants. i also like the new movies but the old one just does it justice
