Nicely done. Is there any way you could maybe consider making it a fluent upwards motion using a few more sticky pistons, a few blocks of sand some common sense? It's really good idea though.

this works by haveing two pistons face to face, the bottom one, a normal piston pushes the elevator up then retracts, the top one, a sticky piston, reatches down and pulls the bottom piston up, this goes in reverse to go down, (normal piston on to sticky piston on bottom). Repeat until at the desired height.
