Beautiful tunes this. Two friends of mine play this as a concertina duet sometimes. It works really well.
These guys would unlikely be related to Sean McGuire, kirsty519. These brothers are from the Sligo direction and Sean was from around Belfast I think.
Apparently, Jay Ungar composed "Ashokan Farewell" after hearing Tom Anderson's "Da Slockit Light". You can hear the same mood in this tune too.

Thanks for posting. I have heard the tune once or twice played by people here in the Borders. Never found a good fiddle version on you tube though.

Gael 147 has it right. The full title is "Da Auld Resting Chair," composed by the late Shetland fiddler Tom Anderson.

Does anyone know if the fiddlers are related to Sean?

No wonder--both Tom Anderson tunes. You can practically play :"Da Slockit Light" simultaneously in counterpoint and sound quite good.

Isn't that the Shetland tune "Da Slockit Light"?

I have no idea what the name of the tune is but I can tell definitively that it is not Da Slockit Light .

Exquisite! I have no idea what the tune is called. I watched this at bedtime and its peacefulness made me fall asleep at the 'puter. :)
