Thank you for posting this. I love this paisa' and the photos of other great singers are a nice background to Pertile (although I could do without the computer-generated scratching and dust effects--overdone and therefore annoying).
His high notes are spectacular. Yes, the voice was not the prettiest by a long shot, but then again... such technique, power, and artistry make for a great singer nevertheless.
Assolutamente un titano. Manrico feroce e sanguinario, rosso e nero. Pertile è un testimone di quel canto in maschera che tanto ci manca... parlo per me. Che bello quando i tenori cantavano da tenori. Quanto alla voce certamente poco fonogenica, chissà dal vivo?
Aureliano Pertile è stato un tenore con una voce eccezionale ed ingrata....Credo che abbia dovuto applicarsi moltissimo per domarla ed averne ragione, la voce è quella che ti trovi e lui, si trovò questo timbro vibrato "largo" e senza note basse...Bravo per averci donato dei capolavori che ancora oggi sono scuola....Ascoltatelo in Chenier, Loengrin

ma se la voce è traballante? ... perchè dovrebbe essere la più bella esecuzione di "quella pira"? io ne ho sentite di migliori... è stata sicuramente una voce di altissimo livello, ma a mio parere molto di cattivo gusto

Personalmente credo sia la miglior "pira" che ho ascoltato in disco,una delle poche,tra l'altro,dove le quartine si sentono ben scandite.
