That was my first phone and I bought in 2008. I still use it until now.

The Loudspeaker very nice and have fast gprs/edge speed. But the main disanvantage is only with 12MB of memory

I am attached to this thing for some reason, i guess its cos it is my first phone and i hav had alot of memories with it, but hey, i reckon its a bit...old... everyone has touch now... if i DO get a new phone... goodbye nokia 5000, I'll never forget you :,(

I personally dont think its that good with memory, and its not that fast, and the keyboard is really small, but cmon wat can u expect from a phone designed in 2008? i am not that happy with it, but i know if i get a new phone that im gonna miss this... memories ); i want a new phone.

I foolishly bought this phone without properly testing it. It is 1) SLOW (I've had 7 other Nokia phones since 1999 and it is by far the worst of the lot) and its memory capacity is HORRIBLE (6 mb usable on-board memory, no memory card slot). Definitely not Nokia's best...

LOL. My sentiment exactly. I got this phone for a week and it's great. And I too only use my cell-phone to sms and call people. And I'm glad I have this one. Smart, slim and stylish and it doesn't burn a hole in my pocket.

Though I'm thinking to buy a larger capacity battery if that is possible. I like to have my battery lasts for ages without recharging. Large battery capacity=reliability.

I bought this phone a few days ago and I like it...however i find that it is very slow when browsing through menu's and there is a short delay between pressing a button and the following action that occurs. Have you experience the same thing.

Hi grt05 the only delay that occurs to me is when first starting the phone from turned off condition. There's usually a 2-3 second delay before the interface gets shown after starting the phone.

However I don't experience any other delay aside when I'm starting the phone.

mine is purple and it is not purple in the back!! it is cheap, fun, very simple and easy to use. it has the basic needs of a cellphone. if you want something more ellaborated and more useful...then buy another one. i like it i mean LOVE this phone. i dont need pc in my hand when i have my labtop...and i barely use everything that those very expensive cellohoines have...
