LOL, if it wasn't so sad it I would be able to keep on laughing. Obama is going to screw us all. Democrats hate Bush so much they would just assume punch this country right in the balls. God help us.
The Republicans did not govern as conservatives--from the right--as they should have...they drifted in the wrong direction (toward the LEFT). That's where they screwed up. Bush should have used his veto pen more often.
Also, it was actually leftist policies that led, for the most part, to the mortgage crisis (mandating sub prime mortgages).
You really believe everything you read on the Red State, Townhall, and what you whatch on O'Riely and Hannity and Colms, right? Why don't you read that Phil Gramm is the one that holds most of the responsibility of what happened. Lehman and the sorts were greedy rich white men that in all case were republican and voted republican because they allowed the to do what ever they wanted. The deregulation that occured was fault of the GOP congress, McCain has been touting degeg for years. So come on.
Sorry, I'm not a socialist. Also, there is GOOD regulation, and there is bad regulation. There is good deregulation and bad deregulation. That's about all I need to say on that subject.
I don't plan to change your mind about who you support just maybe question it, because from where I stand, I see alot of Republicans who are voting for Obama because what has transpired over the last eight years, economically, socially, foreign, domestic; we are not better off right now, we are in turmoil, and change in the white house will bring about 180 in the direction we are headed. I am not a socialist either, but it looks like some of your leaders are with the bailout they voted for.
I agree with you that GOPers like McCain cast socialist leaning votes. I don't agree that "change"/Obama would improve the situation. I believe Obama would exacerbate the problem, especially when it comes to the courts/judges. btw, no one has been spending time speaking about that in the debates. Obama is radical. Obama's State Senate votes re the Born Alive Infants Protection Act are abominable. I read and listened to the record/his actual words, etc., and he lied re his reasons for his votes.
McCain would not only exacerbate the problems, he will demonish the country with war and more spending on the war. He talks about realing in spending, he wants to continue spending 30 billion a month? Obama is not a radical, if you look in his past at the Harvard law review as President he worked with staunch republicans, and he has always worked with people of all paties. We can agree to dissagree on issues of the candiates, I just know deep down that this is the right thing to do. Obama 2008.
btw, re money spent in Iraq: I agree with many leftists that the U.S. should intervene to stop genocide in Dar fur (we should have in Rwanda), or wherever we can save MANY lives. The problem is, leftists suddenly forget about the genocide (apparently WELL over 100,000 deaths) that took place under Saddam. It seems there is a moral imperative to save the lives (if we're able) of many thousands of people (no doubt FR more than we've lost) Saddam would endanger.
I think the US has matched that number of innocent Iraqies that have died since the begining of the war, not to mention the soliders. Darfur is an on going struggle for those people I feel great shame that nothing was done, but what needs to be done there is reconciliation betweent the toutsies, and the houtos. This all occured of tribal hate. Iraq is the same now, the tribal clans hate each other with veriocity, and the only thing that will stop this is through reconciliation. Not a wall & war.
I don't think Obama would even claim the death toll during the war could come anywhere close to the many, many thousands who were killed under Saddam. You might want to research the numbers. Iraq would have been "an on-going struggle" under Saddam (for those he targeted) even as Dar Fur. Arguing to end genocide in one place, while arguing against ending genocide in Iraq seems to be a tough argument to sell.
Regardless of the death tolls in Iraq, 100,000+ Iraqies died for a wall in their country, unstable realtions w/ their neighbours, an occupation, a destroyed nation, destroyed cities, destroyed people, pilfered oil stocks. We need to let the Iraqies deal with their own issues and get out of their business, if we are to see if this brillant thing called democracy works than we need to let them excercise it. I understand their are factions of Al Queda there but I am sure they will leave once we do.
100,000+ were murdered. without regard to WMDs, it seems we had a moral imperative to intervene. Now, the question as to when we should begin pulling troops is another side to the coin. It seems a good idea to leave Iraq in better condition (re the safety of people from genocide) than when we entered, and do as best we can to stabilize the region. but I also think we should begin major withdrawal of troops A.S.A.P. btw, I never vote Dem, but I don't always vote GOP either. Sometimes 3rd party.
Look It's because Mccain woln't talk about the economy & has to deal with angry washed up working class has-beens, that he is loosing! Look jandefane it's NOT 1980 and don't forget we've had a REPUBLICAN in the white house the last 8 years REMEMBER?????????????
Soon you and you children will take pride in an Obama predisdency! in time you will learn to live with a half black half irish president
There's no hope for Neo-Con criminals anymore just get over it you might live longer!
I would never take pride in "an Obama Presidency". why? Born Alive Infants Protection Act Jeremiah Wright. But I wouldnt take much pride in a McCain Presidency either. Also, neo cons disgust me for the most part.
