  • i like the idea off the window for the tunnel ... adam

  • @Adamlovesmedal Thanks Adam , I had done it on an earlier layout and it worked well and gives people outside the layout something to look at besides the rest of the garage.

    Thanks , Mike

  • Mike, Whats the height of your benchwork?

  • @rottinone It is about 45" at the base level.

    Thanks , Mike

  • Thanks Mike! Awesome work !!

  • One word.. wow!

  • Thanks , Hope you enjoy all of them.

    Thanks , Mike

  • What is masonite and where can you buy it?

  • Ninja , Masonite is a thin brown pressboard material and can be gotten at nearly any home center or lumber yard . Just ask for it.

    Thanks , Mike

  • Mike:

Looks great. One idea since you weren't happy with the town on the hill (in the canyon).... Have you considered building it in Z scale for forced perspective? I know that won't be much of an ad for what you sell, but it strikes me as an ideal spot to try it.

  • Mike , I have but was just using those as I had them built. I am certain I will have to use Z.

    Thanks Mike , Mike

  • in my layout , I too have a window that you can see my trains in. It is located in my room so if i leave a train runnunig on the return loop, i can see it in my room !

  • Thanks Ninja I have always liked the idea and glad you too were able to use it to your advantage. It sounds cool!

    Mike

  • Wow Mr. Fifer! Is that camera a Canon A2100 IS? That is the same camera I use in my railroad videos! Nice layout too.

  • No it is a Nikon CoolPix S210.

    Thanks Ninja!!!

    Mike

  • Awesome! Your layout is so close to being conected, why not just put in a lift bridge and make it 2 huge loops? Can you do a vid on how you did that fantastic scenery over by the mine please.

  • Thanks , I have had duckunders and liftouts and ther again they are a pain in the neck (well actually head). Not everyone can get under a duck under and liftouts are nt always reliable.

I wish I had time to make how to videos but I just simply do not untill I retire AGAIN!

    Thanks , Mike

  • What a nice railroad you have. I am enjoying each and every one of the updates!

  • Josh , Thanks so much ! Glad you enjoy them , it makes it all worth while!

    Mike

  • that window panel in your garage or wherever is awesome!! nice job!

  • Thanks Frank . It is made like a tunnel inside but the night reflection kinda hoses up the photo ops. I thought it would give spectators something to look at if they were outside the layout area.

    Thanks Again , Mike

  • well i think its an awesome idea and no problem
