  • i have a question EVERYONE! in my running jump i can touch upto 8'10" so is that my reach??

  • i had a problem with my lower back... when i'm tired it hurts me ... can i do this... pleasee text mee...

  • i have a 7'11 reach i only need 30 inches to dunk ...i have a 34 inch runnning vert havent tried to dunk in a very long time just been in the gym getting right and testing myself..

  • I'm getting ready to start a dunk now program. I've heard of people getting really good results from it, but it says not to do any extra work with my legs like squating or ect. So i was curious if you guys decided to still workout your legs or if your plan called for it. Also, the workouts seem pretty intense, do you think that with a healthy diet it would help with toning muscle too?

  • @jumpmancolt

Don't know what the program your doing is like, but assuming it already has lifting programmed in, i wouldn't do anything extra than what the program calls for.

Yes, a good diet will help you obtain better results.

  • @jumpmancolt should be able to squat 1.5 times ur own weight then u have enough power in ur legs. after that concentrate on getting ur body fat to at least 18% and work on speed plyometrics

  • @megapwn333 Thanks man. I appreciate it.

  • cant believe i kept watching the video

  • squat deep guys to get the maximum from your squatting and after you get a good deep squat you can go and do partial squats with a lot more load

  • get rid of the running shoes, drop the weight, and squat correctly. i can assure you going ATG with just 300 as opposed to 375 not breaking parallel will offer you more gains. get a pair of weightlifting shoes while youre at it too. trust me, it helps a bunch.

  • those are half squats...u coldnt do that weight with proper technique...guarantied..

  • @TheIrishspring84 you dont do full squats while jumping, try to jump, you'll see you dont go under 60°

  • @mouloudo yeah, but if you squat parallel or atg you work more muscles in your legs, and youll have better strengths, not to mention full range of motion. increase in strength increases your jump potential. i think itd be good to do both.

  • there is no way that you are any where near forty inch vertical cus my standing reach is s7"10 and i only fucking have a 35 inch vertical and can jump waaaay higher

  • @redberrey1 hence the title road to 40 inch vertical. the guy in the white though can hit 40 off a run. this vid was during heavy weeks of lifting neither of us were jumping high at this point

  • @nba8340 squat atg you fuckin pussy

  • @redberrey1 god i would kill to have a 7' 10" reach... mine is 7' 4" and i have a 32 inch standing vertical and 36 inch running ... i can dunk a dodge ball. any tips?

  • @midgetking101

Its all about how quickly you can exert all of your max power into a jump. If you have acces to a squat bar pm me. More overall power to exert into your jump is the obvious answere but if your problem is palming the ball do fingertip pushups and finger tip pullups. Train your weakest lower body muscles as well if you know your hamstrings are weak or what ever work on that because thats going to quickly make you way stronger.

  • damn, use gloves for deadlifts lol great vid keeps motivated

  • hey man.....nice vid keep up the training..but for fun make it a road to 50 inch vertical because im trying to get to 50 and i can jump at least 40 now.....so aim high!!!!! and you'll do better :)

  • @Jordan7123 my goal is a 40 standing vert so running would probably be mid 40's

  • @nba8340 which program did you follow?

  • why is ur shin bleeding bro

  • @DE5TROY from the deadlifts

  • im 6ft 1 6ft 2 with the shoes lol and sadly i cant dunk i have always been in shape and loved sports but what kills me is i love pizza and other food like that n i hardly eat healthy so yeah it sucksssss asssss lol

  • I'm glad white dudes that can jump are showing other white dudes it's not genetics, it's work. If you put in the work you will jump. And it's not just doing a couple squats and you will magically fly. 40 inches is a lot you really have to be committed to jumping. But it's worth it when you get it. Good job and keep it up.

  • you guys got to get lower..... just sayin

  • whats with those squats dude?! your getting to like 45° at most!!!!

  • Do the shorts help you jump higher too?

  • 3 red lights buddy

  • 3 red lights buddy

  • is it the flying in four program ?

  • @WhiteMenCanFly

nope this was training under squatdr

  • @nba8340 squat dr tank! TRAINing!

  • Are these the only exercises you did to achieve 40" ? Squat, deadlift and lunges? No plyos? :O

    Good work mate!

  • @rawbq i'm doing plyos now

  • @nba8340 Nice hops man! What kind of plyos are/were you doing?and how often you've been doing doing weight training and plyos?

  • @monkeris been doing it for a couple of years now, have done very very little plyos asides form the jumping involved in playing basketball and some plyos here and there. during this phase wasn't really doing any plyos if i remember correctly, this was more of a strength phase. added in plyos a little later, some seated jumps, line hops, etc

  • how heavy is it?

  • @darkslientt how heavy is what?

  • @nba8340 ohh nvm :D erm... how long did it take u to jump so high?

  • @darkslientt both of us can jump higher than he luis did in this video

  • Hey man I need a big favor I'm a girl and I wana dunk all I need is 4 inches I need a video demonstration or word demonstation of every workout in the beginners 7 day workout because I can only use my fone. I wanna dunk before the season starts and I'm a girl so that's pretty big for highschool my height 5'7 120lbs. The first girl my height to dunk and my weight plz help!!

  • you should go deeper at squat

  • @bedouindunker these were low jumps that day

it's a personal programming thing that squatdr writes up for me. he writes out my workouts for me for each week. i got 3 more weeks left.

  • is this still flying n four stuff?

  • @alechilliard nope

  • @nba8340 yeah...what is it? if it's not flying in four?

  • @alechilliard it's a personal programming thing that squatdr writes up for me. he writes out my workouts for me for each week. i got 3 more weeks left. then gonna shift into more explosive work

  • go deeper on the squats and you will be good. For vertical jumping deep squats are a must!

  • Ego lifting. Drop the weight and squat right. None of you are even coming close to parallel, let alone breaking it.

  • @jasonkanzler I agree, I squat 330 1RM but I squat it deep. I can dunk a ball. You can cheat on a squat but you can't cheat on a vertical. The 375 squat is a 1/4 or 1/2 squat at best. Might as well do calf raises.

  • also, your deadlift numbers being so egregiously lower than your squat numbers might tip you off to the fact that you aren't squatting deep enough.

  • @Cloud3205 they are def. .lower but not sure how much i rarely deadlift. yes i understand it's not full depth, my goal when the summer started was 375 at least parallel by sept 1 and right now i'm on track for that, i actually started a little below 275 bcs it dropped a little b4 i started this 10 wk strength thing. so i'd say i'm doing pretty well so far

  • @jasonkanzler he is working on his vertical bro. going to parallel does nothing to help your vertical. He is not in a weight lifting competition.

  • @Spooker112 so your saying that the posterior chain, which gets activated by breaking parallel in a squat, plays no part in vertical jump?

  • @jasonkanzler You're right, but if it helped the guys get to 40" then who cares. Why would you go the hard way if there is also an easy way? If it was for powerlifting then yes, they should work on their form, but they are just interested in increasing their vert so if it worked out for them...

  • @rawbq

what do you mean by easy way? there isn't really an easy way to get there. luis has jumped 40 before, i haven't though

  • @rawbq you have a point, but if they wish to keep their knees and back in good shape, then form is very important, no matter what purpose you are training for.

  • @jasonkanzler What do you mean?

  • Ego lifting? Please, leave your squat master bravado bull at the door. Athletes train different than powerlifters. If they were football lineman or something itd be different bcuz the benefits of going parallel (a larger number of muscles being worked) would HELP a lineman, but these are guys who want to jump.

Athletes shouldn train to squat w/ perfect form UNLESS squatting with perfect form gets them the scholarships. Last time i checked 4.4 speed and 40 inch verts > squatting. Idiot

  • @jasonkanzler I thought he was doing good lol why are yall fuckers so anal he went at least 80 degrees thats good enough hop off his ass

  • @jasonkanzler you dont go down to parallel when you jump, so he doesn't need to go that low

  • great work guys! u guys need to be breaking parallel on the squats. stopping right above parallel makes a big difference. i only saw one squat that broke parallel it was the last one with 345. how much does ur friend weigh?

  • @steventar 176

  • keep the good work going man...

  • Nice increase on squats just need to go a bit deeper hope you get to dunk after deload

  • @bennygmate1

    hopefully

  • Good job on the pr and good work as always!

  • @LanceSTS thanks man
