@PrestonWolff09 look on wikipedia, it's not instant death from a decapitation. It even goes to state that a vital more gruesome wound producing unconsciousness then death is more humane. Basically the brain tissue is not significantly impacted on decapitations. No wasted meat is the key. Your just wrong in saying it's instant

If it was a good shot, the bird can still run or fly away. It probably didn't go more than 50-100yds. If you get another chance at a bird, remember to aim for the shoulder blade, or if the bird facing away from you, the spin. This was the bird will not be able to run or fly away.
