Hey sarah. I want to make these earrings! The only earring posts/hooks are from a cheap kit. Im scared that ill be allergic to them i made my friend some with them and her ears turned all red. Yikes! Do you know anywhere that sells good quality earring hook things?

@xxmidorifarmerxx Hey! I imagine that the craft stores sell some higher quality earring backings in their jewelry making aisle. I know Hobby Lobby has some of their chains and beads locked in a case, so there may also be some backings for sensitive ears. Otherwise, you'd have to search the internet - maybe the supply section of Etsy.

u can open jumprings by closing ur nose pliers then putting them in the 2 stick things from your nose pliers and open ur pliers & it should be opened :)

I make jewelry on occasion but I always have problems opening split rings. Do you have any advice on how to open those?

@yellowdaisies88 I dread opening those! I always get little raw spots on my skin from trying to open them with my fingernails. But, I guess, use a pair of the needle nose pliers to help - that's what I started doing, but it's still tricky keeping them in place, and such.

@blondeezrbanannaz I believe they are 'Jewelry Essentials' brand && I got them from Michael's. I threw away the cardboard info to the jumprings, but I believe they are 7mm - because they look the same size as some spring rings from the same brand that I haven't opened yet.

@MsFluffyQueen I'm thinking that I actually did get the crayon box charm from Hobby Lobby, because they have a whole aisle full of choices! [But, it was years ago, so I'm not sure if that exact one would be there, now.] And, then I put colorful beads on a head pin && wrapped my own loop.
