  • The Polovtsian Dances are the opera Prince Igor to Aleksandr Borodin

  • Awesome video!! =D

  • GO "Over Zenith" !

  • there is a remix of this on DDR extreme 2, and its really kickass... love this classic song, and the remix of this on DDR... its one of my favs

  • DDR=Dance Dance Revolution. It a game that came out on PS2 and requires a dance pad. The object is to step on the arrows at the same time they hit the arrows on the screen, and it's harder than one would think......at least when you're not doing it on the noob levels.

  • I remember DDRing to this song when I was just starting out....

  • I absolutly love this song! ^^ and Final Fantasys will always be the best video games in the world!!!

  • Where is this long version from??? I only have the DDR edit. Where can I find this?

  • I found it on LimeWire, which I wouldn't suggest doing.

  • @IshtarPiccolo

Why? It's not like you'd get viruses or something. XD

  • The Long Version of this song is from the soundtrack of the original game Konami Released called "OZ" (Over Zenith) which was later ported to Europe as "Sword of Etheria" pronounced (Etera) in game. It was suppose to be released to the US but Konami decided not for reasons unknown.

  • @beatmania3rdmix

  • i agree wid u this the best song besides look to the sky

  • Grow up and don't search techno

  • a bad flavour is no criminal moment, but i agree with you -- it's really sux:D

  • Don't you have lives? It's a good song. If you don't like it then go and find something else to waste your time with. Your comments are worthless. Just let the people enjoy the song instead of ruining it for them

  • you're right -- song is gorgeous, but i've said after this realization:D it's terrible badly. probably, you've not heared classical version. among modern versions, i can mark Natasha Morozova: gorgeous voice sings beautiful song.

  • I like both versions. I'm more of a techno person. But both are good. ^_~

  • not the plovetsian dances i played...

  • no one plays DDR where i live its sad

  • that sucks T.T

  • umm...lapuchan...it is russian...you should look it up ,because they say gde, nasha, and stuff like that .look it up dude!!!anyways i just love this song so much!!!!!

  • I think what the person meant was that the singer has a strong accent singing in Russian lol.

    But the song is great.

  • this song is awsome but Xepher is harder on DDR, on Heavy

  • Xepher fun, but i love this song, and its beat

  • How did you get the long version?

  • isn't this in the DDR song I just got...? what version of DDR is this song in?

  • It's from DDR extreme 2. It's one of my favorite songs, pretty confusing on heavy.

  • oh! on heavy, I sort of got through to the end but I was really tired after... =D

  • yeah it really is confusing =D but I only played this version once and that was at camp I cant find this version anywear in my area O-O

  • @B4life8 I liked it better on standard. it had a better flow to it :)

  • The Russian accent on this was done really badly. I understand that they're Japanese, but they could have at least tried to get someone with a semi-decent accent.

    Great video, nicely synched.

  • Run Aerith Runnnnn!!! Nooooooo Aerith!!

    Sephiroth! Damn you!!!! :(

    X

  • I actually sang it with my school's choir. I've been in love with the piece ever since!

  • I love that song!

  • Fly away on the wings of the wind

to our homeland, o native song of ours,

thither, where we freely sang you,

where it was so free for me and you.

    Borodin,"Prince Igor":"Polovetsian Dance with Chorus"

  • Can some PLEASE translate the lyrics?

  • awesome! i love the song and the video!

  • awesome song. I love this song

  • Uletaj na kryl'jach vetra Ty V kraj rodnoj, rodnaja pesnya nasha Tuda gde my lubya svobodno peli Gde bylo tak privol'no nam s toboju Tam, pod znojnym nebom negoj vozduch polon Gde rad govor morja Dremljut gory v oblakach Uletaj na kryl'jach vetra Ty V kraj rodnoj, rodnaja pesnya nasha Tuda gde my lubya svobodno peli Gde bylo tak privol'no nam s toboju
  • very nice =]

  • I was just wondering something. The game "OZ"...has it come to the US or is it still only available in Japan?

  • i hope it does!!! you the characters from the ddr version of this song rite?

  • that was awesome...XD

  • I love this song so much!!!!!!

  • Haha rocking vid! It's funny as we're doing this song for choir this year :P

  • and its shorter too

  • i have a game ddr and have this on it but doesnt sound so remixy

  • This isn't in Russian.

  • It's Russian. The original was an opera composed but not finished by Borodin.

This is a techno remix with Japanese singing and Russian lyrics.

  • OH no Things just got spoiled. jk not actually nice little thingie there with the russian beats and stuff. I wonder if you've got other video games done to some europa music?

  • this looks so much like FF

  • That's because it IS FF. ^^"

  • URETAY NA KLIRYAH VETRA!

LOLOL JApanese singing in russian is teh hilarity.

  • where did you find the full version ive been looking for 2 years for it

  • Agreed, where did you get it? *wants it*

  • I have it. = ) Want it?

    Give me your mail n,n

  • The song is from the Russian Opera Prince Igor

  • whered u get this darn i spent 5 hours looking around the net =(

  • Where did you get this CD to the full version of Polovtsian Dances and Chorus? Also, I was wondering what culture "Polovtsian" was. Thanks for telling me it was from Russia!

  • It was nomadic people like Mongols. And Polovts were neighbours and sometimes enemies of Rus' before Mongols. Then they were partly destroyed, partly included in the Horde. Btw. this part of the russian opera Prince Igor has nothing with their culture;) This people dissapeared 800 years ago...

  • But there is still one person left to sing a DDR song. XD

  • Sorry, I don't know what means "DDR":)

    And what means "XD";)he-he

  • DDR = Dance Dance Revolution

XD = an emoticon. Look at it sideways, and it is a face laughing.

  • Thanks

About "XD" it was a joke.XD

"Dance Dance Revolution" tells me nothing:(

    Ok. I Googled it;))

I remembered film "Wasabi" with J. Reno:)

  • How can you be on YouTube and not know what DDR is?! It's one of the most popular arcade games. It also came out on home systems. There's a new one coming out soon in arcade. But then again you knew what Polovtsian was.

  • My only home system was "Dendy" in 90th and then only PC;)

I knew about Polovtsian because I'm Russian and it is a part of my history;)

And few weeks ago I was in opera and watched Prince Igor where this theme is taken from. This area is called "Polovtsian Dance" and I was looking for it on youtube:)))And found this;)

  • Oh So you don't really hang around on the internet that much really?

  • I'm working now at home (freelance on days off) and in office I also always in the Net. So I'm really hang around on the internet almost all the time all last week:(

  • Soo true . i like ITG better

  • if this song is called porovitsian dance in japanese would it be polevestian dance in english?

  • I agree with Toby, if you have a passion for this song, then the cinemotography of the various FF's should be the LEAST concern of your bitching. I'd second thought your attitude, mate.

  • I disagree. I think it is a fair attempt from someone to be a little more creative in game development. Or maybe i am talking crap? Who knows?

  • It's from Prince Igor' by Aleksandr Borodin. Polovtsian Dances specifically. This is badly sung and butchered. Scheisse, it pisses me off that such a great music has been exploited for a crappy game.

  • issss here any place i can get this version of the song? i can find the opera...

  • Do you know where I can get this version of this song? I only have the 11 minute opera version.

Nice video, by the way :)

  • Polovtsian dances Peter Ilyactch Tchaicovski (Russian!)

  • Alexandre Porfirievitch Borodine (russe)

  • Peter Illych Tchaikovsky??

You mean Alexander Borodin! He composed the whole masterpiece "Prince Igor". This is just a small part belongs to it and it's known as "Polovtsian Dances"

Everybody should listen to the original one played by a orchestra and chorus... It's amazing!

By the way, the story is based on a real character, Russian Prince Igor; read about him, it's cool too.

  • I can't download this song anywhere can someone please give it to me or tell me where to download it thanks!!

  • This song is very good. by the way it is in Japanese.

  • No it's Russian.

  • No, it's not. It's in Russian.

If it were Japanese, the translation would be Porovitsian, not Polovitsian. And Polovitsian Dance & Chorus is from a play. The DDR version is dance. Why does everyone assume that just because it's in a Japanese game, it must be a Japanese song?

    Butterfly is written by Europeans.

  • Thank you. I didn't think that it was Japanese because it didn't sound like it. I thought that it was Russian but I wasn't sure. Thanks again

  • @Herbycivic The Polovtsian Dances are the opera Prince Igor to Aleksandr Borodin

  • this song is so good!!!

dumb question but what language is this in?

  • Russian I believe.

  • wow. the song fits well with the vid

  • How do you get the full version of this song?! I want it so bad! Do you think you could e-mail it to me please?!

  • rly nice!!

  • I love this song ^^ I sang the english version in choir last year

  • nice

  • -gasp- I had to play this song for an orchestra concert =oo

I can play this on the violin!

I love this song...I fell in love with it the first time I heard it ~<3
