DDR=Dance Dance Revolution. It a game that came out on PS2 and requires a dance pad. The object is to step on the arrows at the same time they hit the arrows on the screen, and it's harder than one would think......at least when you're not doing it on the noob levels.
The Long Version of this song is from the soundtrack of the original game Konami Released called "OZ" (Over Zenith) which was later ported to Europe as "Sword of Etheria" pronounced (Etera) in game. It was suppose to be released to the US but Konami decided not for reasons unknown.
@Hikobatake Nein... gemeint war hier Dance Dance Revolution .. ein Musikspiel... davon ab ist das Original einer Oper entnommen.. die könnte es in der DDR aber gegeben haben ^^
Don't you have lives? It's a good song. If you don't like it then go and find something else to waste your time with. Your comments are worthless. Just let the people enjoy the song instead of ruining it for them
you're right -- song is gorgeous, but i've said after this realization:D it's terrible badly. probably, you've not heared classical version. among modern versions, i can mark Natasha Morozova: gorgeous voice sings beautiful song.
umm...lapuchan...it is russian...you should look it up ,because they say gde, nasha, and stuff like that .look it up dude!!!anyways i just love this song so much!!!!!
The Russian accent on this was done really badly. I understand that they're Japanese, but they could have at least tried to get someone with a semi-decent accent.
Uletaj na kryl'jach vetra Ty V kraj rodnoj, rodnaja pesnya nasha Tuda gde my lubya svobodno peli Gde bylo tak privol'no nam s toboju Tam, pod znojnym nebom negoj vozduch polon Gde rad govor morja Dremljut gory v oblakach Uletaj na kryl'jach vetra Ty V kraj rodnoj, rodnaja pesnya nasha Tuda gde my lubya svobodno peli Gde bylo tak privol'no nam s toboju
OH no Things just got spoiled. jk not actually nice little thingie there with the russian beats and stuff. I wonder if you've got other video games done to some europa music?
Where did you get this CD to the full version of Polovtsian Dances and Chorus? Also, I was wondering what culture "Polovtsian" was. Thanks for telling me it was from Russia!
It was nomadic people like Mongols. And Polovts were neighbours and sometimes enemies of Rus' before Mongols. Then they were partly destroyed, partly included in the Horde. Btw. this part of the russian opera Prince Igor has nothing with their culture;) This people dissapeared 800 years ago...
How can you be on YouTube and not know what DDR is?! It's one of the most popular arcade games. It also came out on home systems. There's a new one coming out soon in arcade. But then again you knew what Polovtsian was.
My only home system was "Dendy" in 90th and then only PC;)
I knew about Polovtsian because I'm Russian and it is a part of my history;)
And few weeks ago I was in opera and watched Prince Igor where this theme is taken from. This area is called "Polovtsian Dance" and I was looking for it on youtube:)))And found this;)
I'm working now at home (freelance on days off) and in office I also always in the Net. So I'm really hang around on the internet almost all the time all last week:(
I agree with Toby, if you have a passion for this song, then the cinemotography of the various FF's should be the LEAST concern of your bitching. I'd second thought your attitude, mate.
It's from Prince Igor' by Aleksandr Borodin. Polovtsian Dances specifically. This is badly sung and butchered. Scheisse, it pisses me off that such a great music has been exploited for a crappy game.
You mean Alexander Borodin! He composed the whole masterpiece "Prince Igor". This is just a small part belongs to it and it's known as "Polovtsian Dances"
Everybody should listen to the original one played by a orchestra and chorus... It's amazing!
By the way, the story is based on a real character, Russian Prince Igor; read about him, it's cool too.
If it were Japanese, the translation would be Porovitsian, not Polovitsian. And Polovitsian Dance & Chorus is from a play. The DDR version is dance. Why does everyone assume that just because it's in a Japanese game, it must be a Japanese song?
i mean.. does "Polovtsian" sound japanese to you?
