  • Baianos sabem viver....aqui é só alegriaa !! WELCOME TO BAHIA...

  • What is the song (title)?

  • Hey people check out MARGARETH MENEZES in the trio MASCARADOS or AFRO-POP BRASILEIRO. IT IS ALL GOOD!! Great people ,Great energy great music!! She is an ecletic Brazilian singer from Bahia whom had her Son Elegipo played all over in the beginning of her carrier, nowardays she plays everything and her carnival music is VIBRANT along with other non carnival music. Her new hit SELEI, SELEI is awsome and COCO M is awsome too!!! Love it!!!

  • esse carnaval no Salvador e um lixo, povo ignorante sem cultura, muita briga vem gringos vem gringo serem mortos ou roubados !!!

  • Dude whats wrong with your voice?

  • I'm going to salvador for carnival in march, I looking for someone to give me does and don't in the city.

  • watch?v=C34tGxKxrMk

  • oooh gringos ' nem sei oq estão falando mais obr ' nós tbm te amamos

  • @resgatess kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

  • wrong! when was the last time you visited Salvador? a taxi from Barra to Itapua is 60 dolars!!!!

  • @lisawebs 60 dollar? you're very wrong! 60 reais ok, not dollars

  • good

  • wrong! Pelourinho is naturally dangerous at night, in Carnival is even worst. If you live there, you have to walk at list half kilometer to get any kind of transportation, and specially during Carnival it becomes absolutely noisy 24h a day, not to mention the druming parades within the Pelourinho streets all nights

  • Where is the best place to stay if you want to be able to join in the party, but also want to be able to have some peace and quiet if we want to rest? I was thinking Pelourinho.....

  • I think Barra is the best area......or Ondina. You are near the beach and it is cleaner in Barra than Pelourinho. But maybe Pelourinho will probably be cheaper.

  • @FuShengAlex Thanks for responding. I will be attending with tour group they have the blaco and camorote picked out for the group. I'm wondering about the ladies your scaring me a little. I'm thinking there r babes everywhere. Can you tell me some do's and don't that will help me there, also have you been to Rio?

  • having lived in Salvador, I can tell you that it will be difficult to escape Carnaval in any of these neighborhoods...the route goes right through Pelourinho, Barra, and Ondina, so you'll need to go farther out to escape.

  • You really dont know what you're talking about pal. Too much movies. The reason why Salvador Carnival is the biggest and crowded on earth is precisely because it is still much more safe than a saturday night ride along sunset boulevard or a football game on a british suburb.North Brazil is third world an far away, but also too far away from Bangkok, Budapest or Marroco.

  • Thanks, but this video tells everything,

my comment was that voice over doesn't bothered me because this is the most instructive video I found, thanks again, by the way I loved that music!!!!

  • yeah, but what she say is very interesting, I couldn't find any decent video telling the real thing about this carnival, I mean I'm going next year and want to know the details, one week isn't much to waste time in surprises, better know the details before you go

  • Well what do you want to know?

I have been 3 times, and this will be my fourth time. I can help answer some questions you may have.

  • come more often ... where you live? bear hug from

  • Vem pra me levar, quero ir... Desculpe o meu portugese penso que vou melhorar isso no viagem ;-)

  • kkkkkk

I will tell you learning rescuer all ... send me your email that mark ...

  • Wonderful! I'm ready to go there, any suggestions besides the video guide?

  • Be prepared for the wildest week of your life! I will be there. Bought my ticket yesterday. Can't wait to go back.

  • send me your msn ... I am the salvador .. and the trio will be singing ... take several tourists and natives to the block ... bear hug from

  • I live in Toronto Canada. I will be in Salvador Monday Feb 16th. It is very cold here now. I miss Salvador a lot!

  • snoopy9352, eu que agradeço a você pela sua atenção. Parabéns por estar fazendo português, é uma língua difícil. Look Olinda carnival too on youtube, this is a very interisting street carnival - Olinda this a city of Pernambuco state, and his carnival have 1 million of people on the streets...you only pay what you will drink, nothing more!Frevo dance is from Olinda, but all the songs are there!

  • I don't know how to tell this in english, but this a music that not include weak words to fill the time... this is a complete History!after 5:45 - Daniela mercury - music: Batuque (batuque is a popular name of sound from brazilian music instruments) - Sorry about my bad English, I am Brazilian.

  • First song: olodum - music: Faraó Divindade do Egito (pharaoh, divinity of Egypt) - This song talks about courage, peace, historical fights, pelourinho, mytology, liberty and equality of black people. Talks too about egypt gods (Osíris, Hiradu,Horus, Tutacamom, Akhaenaton, Gize, nuti, seth)...

In my opinion, this old song (1996) is one of the most mystique, historical and beautiful first songs of Bahia and Carnaval.

  • 2008 carnaval was simply the best week of my life. And I had been there for carnaval 3 times before. Can't wait to see Carlinhos Brown again!

I am there in 2009. This is the 1st time I will attend a camarote. Planeta Othon. Has anyone been in a camarote before? Is it exciting, or just people watching?

  • id love to see carlinhos brown!!! your so lucky!! il be in Brasil next january till middle of february :D

I think the starting song is from Olodum but not 100% sure.
