ive been disabled( T12,L1)for 12 years and i live by myself,i do pretty darn good,i wear AFO`s prosthetics, ankle braces they help me stand.,i have a walker,i know people think its a omen to be in a wheelchair.i clean my own apartment, mop floor, vaccum,i do have a cleaning person but its with the county social services,i dont like working with social services they treat me like im totaly helpless.,they put me on this longterm help plan.in my opinion i dont need it now.
Hello. Thank you for doing this. I have Cerebral Palsy and am in a wheelchair most of the time. Although your video isn't completely accurate as to what I personally go through, it's very close. I'm in my last year of high school and the school is terrible at accommodating for people in wheelchairs' needs. It makes me so angry that people are so ignorant about disabilities, especially my school as it's considered to be one of the best in the country..
Nice Project...You all have alot of will power to do something like that for a school-project. I'd probably just be lazy and interview someone then make a paper or something.
this is the poorest representation of being paralyzed that i've ever seen. no bloody wonder people have such a dim view of those of us who live with this day in and day out.
there are as many positives as negatives...just like your "normal" life. you didn't spend very much time focusing on a balanced result.
very unfortunate take on life after a dramatic change.
no, not bull. my experience and certainly a qualified opinion. the way i choose to live my life and focus on what matters more than what doesn't. disabled life has no less balance than able bodied life. just depends how much you buy into the poor me attitude. just because someone's experience or opinion is not the same as yours is no reason to simply brush it off. if ppl wish to tip the balance with negative portrayals then so be it. my life, while not perfect is very rewarding.
I guess it's just hard for us who's not disabled to really imagine how it is to be handicapped, and the only thing we see are the negative aspects. But I guess friendship, family, feeling that you belong and all the other aspects of life are the most important for everybody, even if they have a handicap :)
In case you don't have time to read all the INFO: This 2004 student-made documentary film examines what it would be like to live in a wheelchair for 30 Days. The filmmakers state: Our inspiration for this project comes from Morgan Spurlock, the mastermind behind "SuperSize Me." Spurlock now has his own sitcom called "30 Days" on FX where people live the life or lifestyle of another to gain an understanding of what it is like to "live 30 days in someone else's shoes."
I not a para but I have cp so i can partialy walk but not very well and m ars are affected as well as legs and hands i also with my back and condescending people treat me like a retard and i'm only 14 i'm gunna have to pt up with crap my whole life and they only have it for 30 days
i love the ideqa of this well i cant sqay that this is original the thing is that alot of this sort of thing not camarea the thing is i think that they are ex grades
The rules exception are crap people who are in wheelchairs can drive and HELLO we don't all live in wonderfully accessible places they should have to dress, shower etc themselves or with help as many of us need in their homes. I mean if they can't do it themselves they should feel the loss of dignity that we feel with caregivers. this is BS. And they should have to ask strangers for help as many of us do.
You got to have pain also, yep lots of pain!Along with surgeries, nonstop high fevers, bed sores, muscle spasms, infections and you havent made it home yet.Get home to your used to be great life, but now everything is upside down. You piss on yourself constantly, Your friends treat you like your 4, your still having awful pain, and your wife wants a divorce. And this is no school project,This is my life I call it 1468 days disabled.
OK. You idiots shouldnt pretend to be disabled for any reason. If you want to know how the everyday life of a disabled person is just ask them. And second of all, just sitting in a wheelchair rolling around come on are you kiddin me? You need the real effect. So I'll tell you what to do, Go wreck your car on the way home from work, Smash 3 vertebrae in your spine and become paralyzed from the chest down, Spend 3 months in the hospital and lose all dignity. Then your on your way kids, good luck
umm is it me or is this just a rip off of the real 30-days? This shit is so bad it looks like a school project or something sound and picture editing all horrible get your own ideas... hope you failed...
Why no asking for help? Asking people for help is a big part of my life as an disabled person. Actually asking strangers for help is one the most difficult things about being disabled.
Thank you for making this video. I live with a physical disability and I face these same challenges everyday. I have always wanted to make a video like this.
Shut up Lefarthog. You are a sicko fetishist who goes about watching films of disabled women on youtube and making disgusting comments about them. Sicko!

Why didn't you get someone who is already paralyzed to do this... you didn't mention they'd need to stick their finger up their ass to go poop, something we paralyzed people refer to as "The Bowel Program"...
