Back when I was a Christian, these guys and Johnny Q. Public were my two favorite Christian bands and the only ones I really felt had something to say.
Ha ha ha, on TBN?! When I was a Christian this was a sardonic anthem of mine I'd hum as I walked between the mannequins and the co-ed "bible studies" at the Shari's on my way to shake my fist at a god I eventually had the sense to disbelieve in.
I think I there that night. Great band, intelligent writing, and still good because they refuse to become another pawn of the industry...yes, Christian music has them, too!
By the way, you're one of the only people who's posted anything from their first album. I was thinking of digging my copy up and putting the rest up, because it's so totally underrated. You wanna know the ironic part is that the song 'Smash Hit' was in the movie 'Saved', being listened to by the negative stereotype, shallow Christian played by Mandy Moore. Allstar did not deserve that. Should've been Carmen, or something.
LOL! Carman! You may like my myspace . com/carmanhead. Sad that All Star was used like that, when they would never be enjoyed by Mandy Moore's character. I do have more from this concert I may put up someday.
@sorenkierkegaard2008 DO IT!!! I've "fallen" into atheism and still love this album because it was an almost early Green Day punk satire on their commercial Christian society. And,w ell, just a great album altogether.
Hey, I did put their first album up since posting that. Check it out. I've got some other good Christian bands. I'd love to hear about your atheism journey, as I've just recently come back to Christ after a long stint as an agnostic. I've discovered agnosticism is actually a healthy starting point, and even now on my journey as a Christian find that it's a neutral, healthy (I would actually say BIBLICAL) starting point from which to examine things before believing them. Tell, if you care to.
Man, Christian rockstars were so innocent back then.

This song's lyrics rock a lot harder than the music!

Ha ha ha, the infamous Christian pogo mosh! It's cute, actually. Guess I've lost some of that atheistic belligerence.

TBN sucks. ASU is awesome though. I hope ASU got the Truth across there.

So ironic of them to perform it on TBN! Do the producers even realize who they're singing about?

Awesome, isn't it? It think it goes to show TBN will air almost ANYTHING. Even if it means some actual decent theology gets through.
