Does the cricut cut museum board? I think it's a little thicker than chip board. and how thick can this machine actually cut? I'm thinking of getting one myself just not sure if it'll cut museum board.
@taleflame I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with museum board. Cricut sells a deep cut blade and housing for their cutting machine. I only cut lightweight chipboard using my regular blade set @ 6, and I use the multi-cut feature, which will cut the image up to 4 times. That works well for lightweight chipboard.
Thank you for that, I have just got some - as we call it in the UK "cardboard" boxes - from my porridge and rice krispies and wondered if they would be strong enough for a mini album. Having seen you add the paper and glue I can see it will end up quite strong enough, thank you again, very helpful :-)
thanks for sharing this ..I didn't know what chip board really was, I asked at home depot they just looked at me like I was strange. LOL so thanks again
@BeliveNoLimits26 Use your multi-cut button and the plus button to cut the number of times you need depending on the thickness of your chipboard. Thanks for watching!
Wow! I never thought of this! What a wonderful way to recycle and make such a beautiful album, tag, etc... Thanks so much for your generosity. Now I have to go buy a Cricut! You are the first video I have ever seen and now I want to make a bunch of things! Thank you! PS-love your voice! So sweet! Emily
Hi Mary: I've been having a heck of a time getting my cricut expressions to cut on chipboard. I think you said you had lowered the speed to 3. Do you think the speed is the key. I'm using cereal boxes and even bought the deep blade. But when ever I try to cut the chipboard it makes a grinding sound like if it were running out of steam. Let me know what you've experienced. Thanks
Hi Mary, Great video! I love the papers you are using. I saw that pack at Michael's today and I think it was $9.99. Great deal!. Thanks for showing us ...
Mary you should use a BREYER to seal all those to your chipboard it will also take out any air bubbles that are in there...i use a breyer for all my paper pieceings..check out my Barney paper pieceing video you will see me useing it.
Hi Mary! You're always so direct and precise on your videos! I absolutely love the paper and the scallop chipboard pages! I know that this mini is going to be original, creative and beautiful. Thanks for sharing sweetie. You're awesome! ~Susan (()) Hugs
Thank you Mary......the best hint ever.....push load paper and repeat last....I cant thank you enough....back to loving my cricut.....Thanks to Mary.....TFS youre the best
Hi Mary, I have the create and sometimes when i do this mutlicut, the mat moves slighty when its cutting and then the second cut is not in the exact same place. it is definatly the mat and not the paper.this has even happened when i have used the multicut on the gypsy. when you load the mat do you push it up against the left side or against the little guide mark on the right - i thought maybe i was loading it wrong and this was why it would move? thanks for all your fab vids. amanda :)
Mary, I have the baby bug too and after watching this I cant wait to get home and start looking for cereal boxes and soda boxes. I am so excited!!! TFS!!! You are a true inspiration.
Hmm, I commented, but nothing happened. Dog gone it!! Anyways Mary, thanks so much for such a great tutorial, I have been saving up my cereal & cracker boxes to use. What a great way to recycle!! Love the pp you used too, I see a trip to big lots in my future!!! LOL
Mary, Now I know how to cut "chipboard!" I don't have the deep cut blade but I will get one so it doesn't ruin my reg blades too fast. I did find this shape chipboard "album" in Michaels for $1, but your hints on how to cut the paper are great.
I need to cut chipboard to make decorations for my Sis's Keepsake Box! (got lots of Diet Coke boxes to recycle too)
TFS - I had bought chipboard and it wouldnt cut...now my boyfriend thinks im crazy because I have saved every cereal and beer box I can find!! Its works perfect...best of all its free and green!
ok Ms Mary I did it, I watched this vid and went over to HSN and ordered a Cricut Create bundled set (they have flex pay, woohoo) so I'm excited to get started. You are such a great help! The fact that you are also a Diet M.D. drinker too just sealed it. LOL I have also seen Cricut at Big Lots, they have the Jasmine cart for $30 I think and another one I can't remember. I'll have to go check it out.
PS: Mikes has new DCWV pads, Songbird and Ciao Bella, beautiful papers!!
grreat job. i have been going to try boxes from around the house here. i got the dee cut blade. But I see you used the regular blade. . Nice to know that works .
