Wow. Walking bass lines have always been a very weak point in my bass playing, but your explanation here was very easy to understand and has opened up a whole new world for me to explore. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
@harisfender Unfortunately I have a neurological hand condition called focal dystonia. The gloves help me cope with that. Thanks for checking out the tutorials! S ;)
@15Holladay according to his website, its because he has a very rare disease. the glove helps him to play the note in a way. i would suggest you go to his website and take a look. :)
@1965Richie Lol... I wish! I've looked high and low for some white gloves with the right wool density to help my hands but also let me play well... as yet i haven't found any. I'll keep searching ;)
Thank you so much. I've been meaning for the longest time to learn walk bass and never seemed to get around to it. Your instructions were clear and very easy to understand. One take was all it took.
Thanks a lot Scott!! Although some of your lessons are a little too advanced for me at this stage in my bass playing, you give great tips and advice! I wish I had you as a private instructor!!! You rock SD!
When you're playing R 3rd 5th, are you going by shapes and pattern recognition or are you consciously aware of the names of each note that you're playing? Or is it both?
@sikbom87 I'm thinking of mainly shapes and patterns. I'm obviously think of the route note though and then whether it's major/minor etc then i assign a shape to it. Hope that helps man. S.
loving this lesson...ive always wanted to learn these kinds of basslines...u laid it out professionally, yet easily for us noobs to understand =)...thanks so much!
@devinebass So the answer would be yes to both of my questions then. Gotcha. You'd think people who knew enough to get something for your videos wouldn't get lost quite that easily thought.
can you post the tabs for thise please? also thanks a ton man

@devinebass I know a guitar player who's fret hand shakes when he plays. Might a fingerless glove do the trick for him?

great video man! Love your lessons especially on walking bass and expanding bassline which has more emphasis on musical theory.
Much more useful than those techniques tutorials around such as slapping and tapping.
Thanks for the lessons :)

@devinebass I'm back :-) Would it be possible for you to get some white gloves for the tutorial? It would be easier to see your fingering then?
