  • Would this work, if i wanted the disk to boot my computer?

  • How can this work with an installation or setup.exe I tried it and it worked except for the fact that during the installation of the software on the disc it said to insert the disc not reading the installation folders and files burned onto the disc.

    Anyone know how to help me fix this I would really appreciate it.

    P.M.

  • u used a CD and not a flash drive ? I think it sounds like the setup program was seeing the CD as C: drive ( boot drive ) and not as a CD rom drive ( D: E: F: etc )

  • is it possible to use this for the multiple mp3/video data cd to auto run in a dvd player?

  • @HEYLON96

    what if u wrote a [dot]bat like that:

    echo off

    cls

    #next line is just for fun!

    echo wait a moment...

    my_vbs,vbs

    i had to wrote ,vbs cause if i write [dot]vbs youtube give me an error

    may it work?

  • @RessiX ... as long as a bat/exe is the one making the vbs execute

  • Remember the conficker bug? Microsoft released a patch a while back to disable autoruns so that it wouldn't spread from computer to computer through USB drives.

  • If it does not work make sure you typed the name of the file correctly , caps and all / make sure you typed the extension correctly

  • COLL!!!

  • i cant get it to work :(

  • Both the inf file and the other file which get opend arent aloud to be in a folder so if you klick on g you have to see them Strate away ( if its g:\ )

  • Me niether. Not sure why.

  • why it doesnt work on my xpsp2???

  • pero eesto hace funciaonar el autorun

  • any ideas to defeat inCD (nero) so that u3 capable USB drives will start up?

  • how can you make it to when it comes up in the autorun thingy( without automaticly running the program... but it lets you pick if you want to run it...)

  • Is it possible that some keys don't support autorunning? Because I've tried that exact code, and nothing happens. It comes up as a settings file, so I know I got the extension right, and the path is correct... any idea whats wrong?

  • same 4 me - ur not alone

  • I can't get it to work with EXE files :( I followed the video exactly :(

  • The filename is autorun.inf

    This is what you type in notepad:

    [autorun]

    open=filename

    icon=filename,0

  • but how do i get the cds or dvds to autorun? do i have to but all the .bin file in all of the cds i want to use or do i put it in the cd drive of where the cds will be?

  • doesnt work !

  • why doesnt the autorun work for me? i have gotten autoruns to work in the past. i am trying to make it open my backup thing. this is what it looks like:

    [autorun]

    open=backup.bat

    It just doesnt work. >:(

  • check and make sure that backup.bat is named correctly and is located in the same place as the autorun file. Also make sure that the autorun file is saved as .inf and not as a text file.

  • yep got both of those things. my genius cousin wasnt even able to help me. :(

  • @chriswodicka

    well i write to it a open=backup.bat (example)

    nothing happen but if i write

    open=backup.bat

    action=backup.bat

    it work try it :)

  • @isaimon no. It doesn't work for me. Windows 7 the cause maybe?

  • I noticed your F; drive is called 'linux'. Do you have linux for a flash drive?

  • ta gigafide

  • does it work for windows vista

  • Yes, I am using Vista in the video.

  • @gigafide I have win 7, autorun possibility won't even show up when I pick options at 1:03. Any Idea what could it be?
