  • Assholes..

  • Stop saying SQUIDWARD!!!

  • SQUIDWARD!!!!

  • Sometimes I act like I know what I'm talking about and act like a wildlife specialist and condemn hunters and fishermen, when really I'm just an angsty teenager or college student because I think they're absolutely evil. <--- Basically half of these comments.

  • @HazeGreyAndUnderway wildlife specialists dont condemn hunters and fisherman. most of them praise them.

  • 1 mal anfassen 1 Euro!:D

  • Stupid hicks. GO VEGAN.

  • It looks like an alien.

  • keep pressing 1:14... LÖL! ;D

  • @Nallebjornen2 will not be 1:12? LOL

  • bad fisher man!

  • To be a video of '93, it looks good. Or I think that was misconfigured date in this camera.

  • At least you let it go thanks !

  • bad of u

  • Disgusting the way you treat animals......! No respect at all.

  • @berrycccc They do bite...

  • instead of torturing it, you should giv it to epic meal time

  • I support fishing, but I don't support treating marine animals with cruelty. How cruel. Yes, people catch Octopi all the time. They don't treat them like that. How about putting it in a bucket of sea water and gently putting it back in the ocean!

  • I support fishing, but I don't support treating marine animals with cruelty. How cruel.

  • @Katyblogger Cruelty would be eating it, clearly they were releasing it but they have teeth and also stock t people , not a good combo.

  • @wanttoseemysnake they have beaks...not teeth haha

  • lol "octapussy"

  • PUT THE FUCKING OCTOPUS BACK IN THE WATER

  • hate octopus

  • Fuck PETA

  • Actually I lied.

I hope the octopus capsizes your boat.

  • Let the fucking octopus go.

  • @JedigirlXD Its kind of hard to do that since octopuses have beaks which is something you wont really want to put your hand near

  • @JedigirlXD why? Octopus tastes great...im serious

  • @JedigirlXD

If that thing pulled you under, you think any of its buddies would demand IT let YOU go?

  • @JedigirlXD you wouldnt say that is it was a fish

  • This video was made before I was born!

Meaning that octopus is no longer alive.

  • WOW! A fisherman caught an octopus! Wow, that NEVER happens! They should send this video to National Geographic, they'll be famous! Millionaires!

Well, the only thing we know for sure from this video is that the octopus is smarter than "Hillbilly Joe - the famous octopus catcher"!

  • 1:00 Hi Quagmire :D

  • A new hat!

  • Wow this video was made before I was born!

And yet better quality than today's cellphone quality videos.

  • I read the video info and it appears that in your area you catch octopi on rod and reel only infrequently. Do you fish a lot? I'm not exactly an avid fisherman but have seen several octopi taken with standard bait and line and have caught one myself. They certainly wont make the majority of my catch, but it is common enough that I don't think it's a big deal. Perhaps my local octopus species are more likely to strike at a bait? I live near sydney, Australia.

  • It grabbed on to the hook? XD

  • Davy Jones did not like this video because rednecks annoyed an octopus.

  • poor octopus....

  • were exactly were u?

  • @CarrotsforBananas Yeah because I said parrots and whales. An octopus is not endangered.

  • I would like to point this out in case anyone else isn't aware:

The cells of an octopus reproduce. So if it loses a tentacle, it will grow back, much like starfish and the iguana's tail. So yes, while this may have hurt it a little, I'm sure it will be perfectly fine. And please stop your complaining. This was obviously an accidental catch. Be thankful they were kind enough to put it back in the ocean.

  • @Iawyn why the fuck to put it down? it is one of the best taste fishes, have you try one on the grill with vinegar?

  • @asvestomixZ I believe you need a special licence to fish for these creatures. Odds are they don't have one.

  • @Iawyn i dont know, here in greece it has to be over a weigh to make sure it is not a baby one

  • @asvestomixZ That's in Greece. They were fishing in America. Different laws for different countries.

  • @Iawyn sorry i didnt know they are limited.

  • @Iawyn And I believe most fishing regulators allow you to keep angled octopi as long as it complies with local limits on size, gender, and number caught (like any other thing fished out of the water). Odds are I'm right.

  • @Wikigoogtube It's quite possible you're right as well. I'm not a fisherman, so I don't know 100% on what the laws are for catching anything down there. I'm also from Canada, and our laws are different.

  • He wasn't being cruel to thing, he was trying get some plyers. If he tried to unhook it with his hand, all 8 of the octopus arms would attack his arm. Then he put it back in water so it could live and still trying get out his plyers. You all are ignorant.

  • mais foutez lui la PAIX!!! pauvre imbéciles je vois pas de quoi il y a d'être fier....:-((((

  • poor thing...

  • haha pinche pulpo right there just like bubblegum

  • You all sound like a bunch of ignorant rednecks, i hope you all suffer the same treatment you put it through.

  • @SUPERSHITTERLOL what pain, that dumb thing took the bait and they have to kill it.

  • @SUPERSHITTERLOL shut up jezz its not dead

  • @SUPERSHITTERLOL

They had the animal out of the water for all of a minute or so... stop with the self-righteous melodrama will you??

  • i laughed when it came at you and all went "whooooooa!" lol

  • thsi

  • Today, the hunter fails to realize that you must respect and recognize the death of another creature. You kill it to nourish yourself, you don't poke and prod it until it suffocates. So, you accidentally caught an octopus, Step One: release it immediately. Treat others how you would like to be treated.

  • @djsufferthing shut up dude your over reacting he clearly wanted to let him go.

  • @djsufferthing Maybe they thinks it's 'nature' :/

  • Ive caught octopus with a fishing rod it was bigger than that but i was fishing in australia

  • DR. OCTAGONAPUS BLAAAAH!!!!!!!!!

  • IT ONHOOKED ITSEL BECAUSE IT WAS SMARTER THAN THE FISHERMAN. :)

  • Something has already nommed on that octopus... he is missing arms.

  • :( put it back! that's little octupus wants to go back to it's mummy!!!!! it's a baby ! only mess with it IF IT'S A HUGE ONE!

  • i find this hard to watch :/

  • Mmmm thatll make a nice mediterrean salad

  • dude, that's cruel and unusual punishment, i would like to tie u to a string and laugh at u, u would not like that...peta should get you for animal cruelty! u caught the octopus, but u did not detach him or put him back in the water, u just played with him like he was a dog or something....mean!

  • @roble98 8th amendment fail.

  • @roble98 - Must be one of those PETA scumbags.

What moron assigns Constitutional rights to an octopus? Got any verification it's a U.S. octopus? Maybe it was an illegal immigrant!

  • Oh god it squeaked ;_; it's so scared!

  • lol octopussy

  • it's an good octopus vulgarious...we are catching these in saranda albania

  • guys octopus is an edible animal and you shoudnt throw that away because that was a good size.

  • Poor octopus.

  • The date is 1993.

I think they actually didn't know what to do with it.

They were obviously scared of the octopus :D

  • LEAVE THOSE ANIMALS ALONE,it really looked like suffering

  • thats like watching a human crawl around miserably >.<

  • FUCK!, Its 1993, xDDDD

    I Think its fake lol.

  • Lyk omgzz poor octopus I feel soooo00oo00 baadd!!11!!1

Suck it up you fucking faggots, it's a thing called fishing, you're all peta-bitches

  • cunts

  • that thing gets stock on your boat..forget it!

  • f... americans

  • @qbertalles fuck you. you dont know a fucking shits worth about americans and i see you foreign do plenty of stupid shit to. hypocrytical piece of shit.

  • @TheDoctorV2point0

I'm not going into what i know and don't know about americans

with you, because you're stupid, but it's clearly that they are torturing that octopus

like many other forms of life on this planet, you cock sucking piece of shit

  • @qbertalles im the cock sucking piece of shit or is it the one who doesnt realize there are more then enough countrys you could stereotype stupid shit about. for example, why dont you get pissed at the chinese and japanese for eating dolphins and octopuses and yet you see one little octopus get it and your instantly shitting bricks. as i said, hypocrytical piece of shit. how much you want to fucking bet at least one person has done something to an animal in your country. eh? dumb motherfucker.

  • jack ass

  • wow guys calm down their fishing! Am I right?

  • o ya its so hallarious to see the poor animal suffer...jerks

  • sushi. yum yum

  • dude you are raping that octopus... take it of once u caught it.. dont make it crawl inside your boat is a hell for that thing..

  • coolilikitbythewaeputtitbacktoazsfastazyoucan

  • scuse me... You didn't want to touch it? What kind of fisherman are you??

  • head toward the light little octopuse

  • 1:14 thats not the octopus squeaking is it

  • I believe you are right!!!! I never noticed that before. And to this date after many many trips , i've never seen or heard of another octopus being caught

  • @markrsano its probbly a seagul

  • @markrsano Poor thing. Did you feel bad at all? I think anything would squeak if it got ripped off the round by a hook.

  • @ninjapunk200 lol it sounds cute :)

  • @ninjapunk200 i think it is a zoom out of the camera

  • This is pretty amazing, I've never seen an octopus caught this way.

  • ive hunted sea turtle, cleaned and eaten them, caught sharks, go fishing all the time, get bs from animal lovers, but octopus are so cool and their really smart so if i were to catch one id put it back as quick as possible.... (and yes i know turtles are smart too but they are sooo tasty, so thast the rationalization)

  • fucking idiot what physco path eats sea turtles?

  • asians

  • @ZzshineGlitter actually lots of people used to eat it before it became illegal, i heard it tastes great

  • octopi are smarter than these guys. if you're going to eat kill it humanely. or let it go.

would love to hang you by a hook!

  • i no rite!!!!

  • :( just putt it back so fast as you can

  • Poor octopus :(

  • I am a fisherman but i must say he shud have used an octopus net to lift it out and unhooked it manually

  • Why the hell shouldnt they be fishing? i have no time for you peta morons who believe that any sort of hunting or fishing or outdoor activity is 'evil' you are ridiculous

  • Couldn't agree more. Thats how humans survived for thousands of years.

  • @19490 they can fish, just fish the fish and choose what to do with them, don't leave them dangling there like a captured animal, just use the fish and choose what to do with them or put them back :)

  • @19490

at least put it out of it's misery, and hunting for sport is nothing short of inhuman

  • stfu

  • So the Japanese and people in African tribes who survive b either fishing or killing cattle should all starve?

Japan has little farmland, and much of their diet is fish as a result.

Now lets look at africa, little water, even less arable land. The massai(sp?) survive by raising cattle, they have also been known to drink the cows blood to avoid dying of thirst, a very real possibility there.

So should all these people be driven to poverty/starvation because you are squeamish?

  • @ogloosh

    Yes. Absolutely

  • theyre caught in alaska every once in a while

  • fuck off dousche bag theyre fishermen not tree huggers now why dont u go rescue all the little fish that ima ram up ur ass

  • stfu

  • quietly at 0.18 they say "good eaten"

    bastards

  • they are good eating delicious here in hawaii

  • octopussssssssssssssssssssy !

  • Do you guys really not understand that the food web relies on us killing other beings? If we cease to kill other animals then the whole food web would mess up and species would go extinct.

  • @Zaban94 ok, i get this, but if we need to kill other animals, then kill them, don't play with them until they either die or wanna hurt you, that's animal cruelty, i'm not mad at u, but at them for being such jerks.....i think, if they want to kill it and eat it, then do that, otherwise put the darn thing back in the water so it can get more octopus....!

  • @Zaban94 No, actually. Not in the excessive way we do. Nope. For example, we kill deer because of overpopulation, right?

Deer overpopulate because we kill them. In time, each respective ecosystem would balance it self out (Exponential vs lateral growth. You should have learned that in 10th grade biology, yes?) No other animal kills for sport OUTSIDE their natural prey, save bipedal mammals and some arachnids.

Anyway, is this killing to support the food chain? Or is it cruelty for fun?

  • @izidagger This wasn't pertaining directly to octopus hunting, because clearly it's not a popular sport or hunted game. A few octopus' being killed here and there due to fishing will not make much of an impact at all.

  • lol @ the fucking hippies

  • let the poor thing go

  • hahahhaha stuck tho the boat!

  • bad very bad!!!! its crime.

  • disgusting bastards, i hope one of them kills you.

  • People have been eating all kinds of seafood since the dawn of time.

    Chill.

  • That was crazy hahaha

  • Sushi time

  • lol

  • i was a bit off-put w/ the manners of the fishermen, but c'mon, TropicalKeeper, it's not like they did this to a freaking dolphin. Watching that octopus writhe around on the deck...very fascinating! almost beautiful! TK, u need to get ur spelling right and get over urself!

  • crule :(

  • I've caught quite a few around Cape Town. It's very tricky to catch them with rod and reel cause they can hold onto the rocks like you wouldn't believe. Normally the line snaps before you can get them off the bottom. It can be done though! They make EXCELLENT bait.

  • ok moron..stop letting it hang like an asshole..unhook it and release it, like a sportsman..bunch of little kids here

  • Once I saw this guy catch one on a pier in southern california.

  • neat
