It's sephy's fault for not acting quick enough, plus I'm not a big fan of overly long drawn out attack animations anyways. If it was included at the time, it would've exceeded the original Youtube upload limit of 10 minutes.

How do you use more than 3?

If you decide to check on your other group members then they get to battle hence allowing more than 3 to battle essentially, but I didn't bother, a single buffed up trio is all that I need.
