How many people are going to argue that it is Norton Antivirus and not Symantec Antivirus? Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.2 was discontinued and became Symantec Endpoint Protection. Plus I don't understand why that is the main focus of the comments. I am ever so perplexed.
Many of us are more familiar with Symantec End Point Protection, not having a choice of antivirus in corporate environment. In the consumer environment, where we have a choice, who'd choose to use Norton? (that's a rhetorical question)
Actually, the security conference circuit is becoming a cynical racket in its own right, yielding diminishing returns on the time/money investments and actual useful information gleaned - your observation about Dan Kaminsky would underscore this point to a large degree (go, go superzf0!). The benefits of self-employment versus corporate employment are valid, but the conferences are becoming a waste of time (unless you want to party in Vegas, in which case, rock out with your cock out, etc.).
perfect summary of corporate life included for free :) I'm not independent (yet), but working for a small company thankfully comes close. Thanks for making me grin, alex!
@wikipedian7 You must not be aware of their coroporate AV solution titled "Symantec AntiVirus", which was recently discontinued for their "Symantec EndPoint" product. Norton is for home users, and shouldn't be used in a commercial environment, but I guess you wouldn't know any of that if I hadn't come along.. did I just get trolled?
@soadisturbed Yes I know about Symantec AntiVirus/EndPoint protection but their "main" consumer product is the "Norton" range, which many of us are familiar with.
@wikipedian7 The user knows this, if you didn't guess it was the words of and idiot average user and btw... even though it is called Nortan the title of the symantec homepage does say "Symantec AntiVirus"
@wikipedian7 it is developed by symantec. symantec is a software company for norton. yes the name is norton antivirus and norton internet security but the software is developed by symantec. that's why the bear said that it will create programs to scan the computer when it goes to work for symantec.
Yeah its so annoying!

Btw, the name of the AntiVirus is NORTON AntiVirus NOT Symantec AntiVirus. Plus they also make Norton internet security and Norton 360.
