I once saw a very insightful documentary about lab monkeys on PBS. It shared a lot of unknown facts about chimpanzees' treatment in labs without the extreme PETA/animal rights/moral and ethics high-grounds overtones. it's called NATURE: Chimpanzees an Unnatural History. I highly recommend checking it out.
