@benn252benn she is, but this is only loosely based at the original play. fact is, there was surprise the original screenwriters even allowed this version to be made at all! this is made for children, and as such focuses on different themes than the play. i would think that an execusion is not something parents wants their children watching. the original Tuptim was a junior wife of the king, not a servant. adultery, polygamy, violence, etc. these themes aren't very kiddiefriendly, ya know?

They compleateley disregard the lands true traditions and customs, and in my oppinnion, a lot of the songs just arent that good and seem a bit forsed XD if they would fix those, this would be a very good movie, even when you are an adult.
