Your only supposed to use your throttle around a third of full throttle for the first 1100km. Care should also be taken with new tires that arent yet warmed up

I wonder if a cold engine contributed to this? My bike in particular takes forever to warm up and one thing I have noticed with this bike is that you don't want to be turning while rolling on the throttle with a cold engine! It will be sluggish and drag only to suddenly rev up (unsafe in a turn). One guy onkawi forums even attributed an accident that totalled his bike to that very thing.

All of the above, new tires have a slick rubber protectant on them that has to wear off, cold tires are slick, poor throttle control combined with dumping the clutch, and cutting the throttle turned his low-side into a high-side. All newbie mistakes and why new riders shouldn't start on powerful and/or new bikes.
