Good deal. I was a member of a local ambulance company - we were volunteers, but sometimes we had to bring drunks to detox and that made us unavailable for serious calls - so I can see the logic.

I've seen the ambulance drop really loaded salarymen off in my neighborhood as well!

Some older folks abuse the ambulance services back in Canada and the States too. Sometimes they do it just because they are lonely (wanna chat with someone...ambulance attendant).

yeah i heard alot of the same stories in my area too. people calling for only a cold or a runny nose just because they are too lazy to take the train. its really sad situation due to the fact that some people have died from there being a lack of medical attention. well at least in osaka we are having that problem.

People shouldn't take advantage of something like that and save the ambulance for people who are really in need.

i'm so jealous!! a FREE ambulance ride!!!! a few years ago i got so shitfaced that they called the cops and an ambulance. ambulance drove all of 2 miles to the hospital. my bill for the ambulance ride was 1000$. my quick ER stay and a few blood test cost me 200$. wtf?!?!
