@senegal20111 women can't rule over men, and men can't rule over women, but they are equal. Like you had said, the bible says in the body of Christ, there is no male nor female. We are 1, who was the first one to see Jesus after He rose from the grave? Mary, a woman, and He said go and tell.... A long time ago, people looked down on women, they weren't allowed to learn, read, or write, so Paul was saying they CAN learn.. That's all that scripture is saying.
@senegal20111 that's exactly the point I'm trying to make, people twist that scripture up to say women can't preach or whatever, but they have to know the time that was written, he was telling the people that women CAN LEARN, because at the time, women weren't allowed. It never says they can't preach or teach.
@senegal20111 in the time that the scripture was written, women won't allowed to learn. They didn't have the same privileges as a man. They weren't allowed to learn to read or write, so what this is really saying is women are allowed to learn in silence, without getting cocky and interrupting, or trying to control the man.
@itsclassygal4u If you are referring to 1 Corinthians 14, that is in the context of speaking in tongues. Doesn't Scripture say that there is neither male nor female? And was there not women prophets?
John Eldredge leart eastern mysticism and has trained in thearter he is the consummate false teacher laeding many astray·His ideas dont come from the bible."In modern shamanism, geese are also associated with communication, the ability to express oneself, especially through the use of stories. Its said that the goose as a totem signifies the importance of the childhood belief in stories and legendary places. The stories people liked most as a child might give insight in the patterns in their lives"
What is even more amazing is how indistinctly critical people are. Isn't it really them (they) that you do not like, and not their doctrine? Otherwise, please tell me -- from the Bible, no less -- what is wrong with their teachings? Other than the fact that they believe they can sense the voice of God. Jesus did say (John 10) that "My sheep hear My voice".
@mrdandrea Dunno if there's anything that can be done about it. But the sound cuts out at about 37 seconds in, and comes back (covering what was said, but not matching what the people are NOW saying) at 1:17 or so. Just a heads up :P
@mrdandrea i love how the people commenting seem to pay so much attention to body language...it's not the body language that counts but rather the holy spirit and scriptural knowledge which testifies to us as to whether teachings are scripture based and holy spirit led, as you wrote, yes, the sheep hear his voice..mrdanrea, i love you, i love this teaching, i think joyce took all the 2010 broadcasts off her website, i thought i would never find this again, you made me a very happy woman...
@madona Thank you, I'm humbled by the fellowship of Christ's suffering. I had some problems w/ the editing of this but our family has had some major trials, so I haven't much time to focus on it. Our eldest son was recently wounded in Afghanistan & had both legs amputated above the knees. All of this occurred while mom has been away from home, I believe in peramenopause. Yet, as Joyce says, when the devil asks "what you gonna do?" repeatedly, just say "Nothing", I'm on vacation in the Lord.
We (they) have been interpreting scripture wrong for centuries. Its amazing how many people think they know what God says and thinks, when its only their ego speaking. I could pick out a passage of scripture, and tell you exactly what God is 'saying'. But is it God? Or is it me?
I watched this with the sound off, and this guy looks terrified of these women. His body language screams 'defensive!', and these two gals have little respect for him. Joyce looks like she can't believe she's in the same room with a man who thinks he knows what mysteries a woman's soul hides - because he ain't no woman!
@goldenscales I think the host doesn't believes anything that she says, she seems bitter or 'dimished' herself. John does have some good things to say..but why does it seem like contemporary times are always in defense of scripture, as if we have been interpreting the bible completely wrong over the centuries. Its like scholars weren't even desribing passages right in the past and simply used them for means of social cohesion, power, and a justification of man's actions and conquests.

@senegal20111 that's not what the bible says... It says women must LEARN in silence and have no authority OVER a man.

Women are not allowed to speak in church and certainly not to teach!!
That is a commandment of the Lord. Satan turns all God's commandments and regulations.
