hmmm off the streets, heavyweight champion? funny, I remember a story of some dude with a stolen bike who became the all time great some call him cassius clay but I think ya'll know him as Muhhamad Ali.
I'm fairly new to this whole debate but I'll tell you right now it's the other way around, MMA fans HATE Boxing!
It's simple, mma fans are insecure so they claim their sport is the best and most realistic so they flame boxing thus resulting in a few would be neutral boxing fans getting pissed.
That's my experience with the matter anyway, just scroll down and you will see the types of MMA fans I described. You fuckers are a disgrace to combat sports of all types, boxing, mma, wrestling. losers
It's not dieing because the game is differen't, boxing has differen't rules to MMA because it's the sport of punching there is still skill involved in just punching, dodging and blocking so boxing is still in a league of it's own in all respect.
I think people shouldn't compare Boxing with MMA. For me they are two different sports and both have their good entertaining things. It would like comparing baseball with football!
As a pure sport, I have nothing against MMA. What I hate is the fan culture. All these idiots wearing their Tapout shirts and their superiority complexes even though most of these assholes have never trained a day in their useless fucking lives. Of the people I've met who actually do it and compete in MMA, I've found them to be very respectful and not at all like the fanboys. Ignoring all that, it's a good sport that requires skill and dedication like any other.
Does it really matter? I mean, I'm a boxing fan, but I still don't mind watching some MMA from time to time. In fact, I appreciate it when there's a MMA match and there's no boxing matches to watch, although I may not understand what's happening, its the next interesting sport available in my book.
As far as whether one or the other is "real fighting" is complete BS. Real fights occur haphazardly, and the conditions each street fight has is ALWAYS different so comparing the two is illogical.
Respect to all combat forms..! But in a street fight I will put my money on a well trainied MMA fighter, I would gladly take Jose Aldo over Chicken Mayweather any day of the week. What happened to F.M anyways.? Oh.! yeah, he's playing the retirement game again, or the bitch I slap you game.! Last boxing PPV I bought was Barrera vs big mouth Prince Naseem, and got my money's worth :D, Only big fight outhere for boxing is Pac Man and Floyd, but is not happening cuz Floyd is scared, don't deny it.
also brock lesnar wasn't "taken off the streets" he was a division one wrestler with a 106-6 record and wrestlers have proven to be some of the most supierior fighters out there
boxing fans hate MMA cause MMA is swalloing it in terms of popularity also for the first time in 80 years there are fighters that can beat boxers in a combat sport they also fail to see the art behind it....they see two men fucking instead of two men fighting
lol its funny how people say boxing dead but boxing still makes more money and has more viewers. you can put ufc 114,115 and 116 together and it still doent beat out mayweather mosley in ppv or money made and u still have mayweather pacquiao so think and do some research before u say boxing dead
UFC, MMA, whatever is nothing more than wrestling with punches being thrown. I really hate the wrestling/boxing combo all it really looks like is a playground fight.
@videogamegenius - are you stupid? Boxing is not one dimensional at all. Offense, defense, blocking, parrying, slipping, lateral movement. MMA has 5 rounds cause no one will want to watch more then that.
@TheGILBERTnetwork Oh yea my bad boxers do not only use their hands making it a 1 dimensional sport, becasue a sport that is one dimensional only uses one aspect of fighting like boxing, they only use thier hands. slipping has nothing to do with other form or fighting you ignorant moron HAHAH also, boxing is 2 dimensional, i was wrong because they also use their heads when they head butt so that is why it is not 1d.
@1Mafioso4 - get the fuck out of here....MMA owns shit. low ass fake numbers and it's only popular in the states and Japan. No one else cares about the sport. MMA is good in the fact that it's enterainment cause no head movement and large wide punches are thrown. Everyone loves a ko but boxing is more then that...mma is wack man...It's boxing's half time show!
mma = dude's rolling on the ground with their nuts in each other's face while wearing underwear, and they say it is like streetfighting, never, never seen a street fight like that, never see guys rolling on the ground, when mma guys start fighting for 10 or 12 rounds , and fight with endurance then maybe you have something all they have now is fedor
@jonasfagssux Learn proper english before you comment. You represent the average intellect of a MMA fan which is neal. Its ironic how you say faggot, but you have fag in your name which probably means you have hidden gay tendencies.
John needs to open his fucking eyes cause there are plenty of rythm and flow in the different styles and I find multiple styles WAY more pleasing than one.
Half the boxers that mma or pride fighting put in the ring are nobodys that are okay at boxing just to make boxing look bad. If you put ivander hollyfield in with brock lesnar he would beat his ass. You know why cuz even with ground game the boxer can avoid when a wrestler shoots if he has amazing footwork which good boxers have
Yeah true, James Toney's been looking for a chance to fight an mma fighter but Dana (UFC president) keeps avoiding him. Toney even said that he's willing to fight Brock Lesnar.
I think it's because Dana knows that a great boxer with power will dominate MMA fighters.
Anyone including women and children can understand boxing and the drama in it. It is natural instinct to defend yourself with your fists. But to really appreciate MMA, you have to be educated a little more. An arm bar is not natural. That is why I think boxing has more meaning to people. MMA is popular for one reason... it is almost guaranteed brutality. You cannot run and win in an MMA ring. You have to fight. If boxing had a No KNOCK OUT NO WIN culture... MMA wouldn't even exist.
They mean that you can pretty much take any big, really strong, athletic, tough guy from the street and he has a chance to become a UFC champion in less than 2 years. This is impossible for boxing because boxers spend 5-10 years developing and sharpening their skill to be at world class level. You can take the strongest, toughest, and most athletic guy in the world and train him 10 hours a day for 2 years and he'll never be a boxing champion in 2 years.
@TheFelix187 No it means a big, powerful, athletic guy with world class wrestling can beat 2 cans, a very old champion and a BJJ black belt that wants to stay in half gaurd. So no just any guy off the street can't do MMA without training. Lesnar got caught in a heel hook and tapped. Than he started training to defend subs. Plus Lesnar was training long before that. Take the best Boxer in the world to fight a guy with wrestling skills like Lesnar and I guarantee you he's going tap or nap.
Wrestling is not a fight art. It's the art of controlling and getting your opponent to the ground and pinning him. Plus Brock Lesnar was never a world class wrestler and he's not as sharp as he use to be.
Anyway what I'm trying to say is that it's 100 times harder to be a world class boxer than it is a world class mma fighter. A lot of mma fighter that's been training in boxing for years would not stand a chance agaisnt a nationally rank amateur boxer.
@TheFelix187 Being slammed doesn't inflict damage? Being pinned and punched in the face doesn't inflict damage? You've either never done wrestling or have balls of steel.
I'm talking about stand up fighting. A boxer stand up would destroy MMA stand up. Look at Kimbo. He's not even that great in boxing but he's able to flat out dominate people in MMA.
@TheFelix187 Kimbo is a horrible example. He only dominates cans and tapped an ex-boxer. Hell in fact he got knocked out by a guy a weight class below his. Good stand up look at Shogun, Kongo, Cro Cop. You're reaching for anything now.
I have a lot of respect for mma figters like Anderson Silva, GSP, and Fedor because their skills take years to of practice and hardwork to develop. However, fighters like Forrest Griffin and Clay Guida's stand up are a joke. All they do is stick out their chin and swinging punches HOPING to hit something. That's not hard to do. All you need is heart and toughest and not skill.
@TheFelix187 They have great stand up but have been caught in the past (Fedor almost lost to Brett Rogers). Since his loss to Serra GSP has been utilizing his wrestling, the non-fighting art, Glay and Forrest aren't very good fighters but sometimes he can pull of some upsets. Forrest raped Rampages leg. I wonder if boxers know how to check kicks?
Boxing champions gets way more praised than MMA champions around the world for a reason. It's a gladiator sport where people die. From 1990 to 2006 over 1000 people have died from boxing. In mma, if you'r scared to get hit, you go to the ground like a pussy. Boxing require way more skill, commitment, and conditioning (12 rounds=way more than mma). Plus it's not just about two people getting into the ring/cage and just brawling. There's history and science behind it.
Look up the defensive art of Floyd Mayweather Jr, Pernell Whitaker, Mike Tyson, Willie Pep
Once you understand the knowledge, skill, history, and what boxing stands for then you'll appreciate it more.
And I don't mean to criticize MMA. Again, I respect fighters like Anderson Silva but most MMA fighters today are bandwagon fighters who just want to look big and bad by saying they're a cage fighter.
@TheFelix187 LOL that's the first time I've seen someone argue that boxing is better because of death rate. But, hey if you like your stars dead.
And, you've lost all credibility.
Actually, in boxing you just have to learn one aspect of fighting. In MMA you need stand up skills, the ability to take down and defend them and ground skills. Considering the kind of cardio you need for take downs/getting back up they are conditioned.
Again I'm not trying to bash MMA. I just get really annoyed when some loose cannon who think they're big and bad say they're a cage fighter and think they're all that. Most people in MMA right now only do it to look tough and they make the art of fighting look bad. They're not real fighters. Real fighters often have peace of mind and discipline like Lyoto Machida, Ali, Manny pacquiao, and etc.
@TheFelix187 Dude yes you are you said and I quote, "In mma, if you'r scared to get hit, you go to the ground like a pussy." You seem to either hate or not understand it.
Who in MMA is doing it to look tough? Not the dudes who are trying to make a career out of it. Maybe the Tapout kids who never trained a day in their life.
Ali talked copious amounts of shit. Most fighters fight for money and to challenge themselves. Some just plain enjoy it.
@TheFelix187 I actually would any books or docs you'd recommend.
Also you should see the amount of time and dedication it takes to become a well rounded fighter. You'll gain a whole new respect for the sport and even the ground game.
No, what I mean is that people watch and do UFC/MMA because they think MMA and the fighters are tougher than boxers. This is not true. Plus, boxers should get way more praise because every time they step into the ring, they're putting their lives on the line.
No they aren't over paid. To become world class boxers, you need years of training. Unlike MMA, a person can't just start the sport and get a title shot, let alone be a champion in 2 years. It's 100 times harder to be a boxing champion than an MMA champion. Anyone can become a soldier. It doesn't much hardwork. On top of that, professional boxing has lots of risks. Some like Joe Frazier are partly blind while others like Muhammad Ali & Freddie Roach have brain damage.
First of all, boxers hit a lot harder than MMA fighter. A Mike Tyson, Ernie Shavers, George Foreman, and etc. picture perfect punch would be over 2000 lbs of force. Chuck liddell's picture perfect elbows only has 400 lbs of force. On top of that boxers get around 200-500 punches to the head per fight and get knockout over 5 times per fight. MMA fighters only have to take 1 devastating punch, elbow, kick for the fight to be over. 10-15% of boxers suffer from Demetia Pugilistica (look it up).
as you can see everybody, heres a prime example of mmgay stupidity
boxing fans have class...you see people in suits, tuxedos, dresses attending boxing matches in casinos, etc
mma, is a bunch of fucking hilbillies gathering in mandalay bay, its basically a klan meeting where fucking rednecks test their faggot skills against eachother, but when it comes to getting in the ring with a boxer, oh no, theyre afraid of brain damage
lol i knew u are so stupid u dont even know how to answer so there it is the fallacy a fucking retard would write "cool story faggot" u just show how stupid that sport is
cool story bro is what you say when youre talking to a complete retard and cant engage in an intelligent conversation with them so you give them a verbal high five
since your gay though, ill change it to cool story faggot
@MokonaModokii Hahaha That's not what we're discussing. Don't bring logical fallacies into this. You're wrong and got called on it. Live with it. Saying boxing isn't fighting is as stupid as the guy who thinks a boxer can avoid a take down from a wrestler because they have "amazing footwork."
Dude you should just stop. You're coming off as more of a jackass with each post. Which really doesn't matter because it youtube. In closing boxing is fighting, you're retarded and dictionaries are your friend.
u are a fucking violent piece of society shit for what i see in your channel i just showed u how everything u said is wrong so now ur answer will be a fallacy against the person
Plus look at the Mike Tyson vs. Andrew Golota. Andrew took such a beating that he had to quit in the 3rd round. Later that day, Golota callaspe and nearly died so he was taken to the hospital. The doctors said that he had a ruptured disk in his neck and if he would have continued he would've died. Plus, look at Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman. Foreman beat Ali so bad that Ali's kidney was destroyed.
think of it this way...if an mma thats well trained in wrestling and jiu jitsu takes a boxer down to the ground and gets a full mount on him the boxer is toast
yeah but a boxer would do a lot better when getting jumped or fighting 3 guys than a mma fighter. A jujitsu/wrestler can only fight 1 guy at a time. If I was to end up in prison and have to fight multiple guys at a time then I would way rather be a great boxer than mma fighter.
hmmm off the streets, heavyweight champion? funny, I remember a story of some dude with a stolen bike who became the all time great some call him cassius clay but I think ya'll know him as Muhhamad Ali.

@TheFelix187 I actually would any books or docs you'd recommend.
Also you should see the amount of time and dedication it takes to become a well rounded fighter. You'll gain a whole new respect for the sport and even the ground game.
DrunkenMaster209 2 years ago
so war must be the ultimate sport if the number of deaths is what makes a good sport
MokonaModokii 2 years ago
No, what I mean is that people watch and do UFC/MMA because they think MMA and the fighters are tougher than boxers. This is not true. Plus, boxers should get way more praise because every time they step into the ring, they're putting their lives on the line.
TheFelix187 2 years ago
arent they way overpaid for being a bunch of black and latino guys who didnt want to study and liked beating ppl
so they fight once in a while and gain bazyllions of dollars
while a soldier is the same thing but maybe he couldnt become a boxer so he has to earn a litlle money to get by
MokonaModokii 2 years ago
No they aren't over paid. To become world class boxers, you need years of training. Unlike MMA, a person can't just start the sport and get a title shot, let alone be a champion in 2 years. It's 100 times harder to be a boxing champion than an MMA champion. Anyone can become a soldier. It doesn't much hardwork. On top of that, professional boxing has lots of risks. Some like Joe Frazier are partly blind while others like Muhammad Ali & Freddie Roach have brain damage.
TheFelix187 2 years ago
yes im sure hitting some1 with ur elbow isnt really dangerous what kind of pussy cant take a knee to the head
MokonaModokii 2 years ago
First of all, boxers hit a lot harder than MMA fighter. A Mike Tyson, Ernie Shavers, George Foreman, and etc. picture perfect punch would be over 2000 lbs of force. Chuck liddell's picture perfect elbows only has 400 lbs of force. On top of that boxers get around 200-500 punches to the head per fight and get knockout over 5 times per fight. MMA fighters only have to take 1 devastating punch, elbow, kick for the fight to be over. 10-15% of boxers suffer from Demetia Pugilistica (look it up).
TheFelix187 2 years ago
of course they hit harder if they are so fat they couldnt even lift his leg higher than their knees
thats why boxing doesnt teach u how to fight they teach u a sport
in MMA u have to fight and thats it it would be more exciting if they could use weapons but the fights wouldnt las long
Tyson is so slow he wouldnt take an asian in a fight
its that simple
MokonaModokii 2 years ago
i dont know what you're talking about but mike tyson hits and moves fast
hijaksomdo 2 years ago
Mike Tyson is slow?
shut the fuck up
as you can see everybody, heres a prime example of mmgay stupidity
boxing fans have class...you see people in suits, tuxedos, dresses attending boxing matches in casinos, etc
mma, is a bunch of fucking hilbillies gathering in mandalay bay, its basically a klan meeting where fucking rednecks test their faggot skills against eachother, but when it comes to getting in the ring with a boxer, oh no, theyre afraid of brain damage
and boxing IS fighting
Spike00513z 1 year ago
first of all boxing isnt fighting and u have never fighted once in ur life
where da fuck is the knife in boxing if u disagree? where are the kicks and where are the 5 on 1 fights
mike tyson cant do 100 metres in less than 18 secs he is a fucking turtle
he would never even catch som1 in a real fight
and its so classy seeing fat men with prostitutes paying stupid ppl to fight give them uniforms and its as classy as any army genious
MokonaModokii 1 year ago

DrunkenMaster209 1 year ago
boxing is not fighting its a sport otherwise there wouldnt be rules wtf are u saying
have u ever seen a real fight? Its exactly like a ring fight(sarcastic-in case u are too stupid to realize it was sarcasm)
MokonaModokii 1 year ago
@MokonaModokii So MMA isn't fighting either? They have rules. Dude do you know the definition of fighting?
"to contend against in or as if in battle or physical combat"
"to box against in the ring"
Merriam-Webster, look it up, bitch.
DrunkenMaster209 1 year ago
so if we are gonna define it by what the a dictionary says then we can say its the same thing as a pillow fight
fucking brainless redneck
MokonaModokii 1 year ago
@MokonaModokii Hahaha That's not what we're discussing. Don't bring logical fallacies into this. You're wrong and got called on it. Live with it. Saying boxing isn't fighting is as stupid as the guy who thinks a boxer can avoid a take down from a wrestler because they have "amazing footwork."
DrunkenMaster209 1 year ago
u dont get the point
its like saying playing wii should be a sport cant u fucking get it the fallacy was a sarcasm
MokonaModokii 1 year ago
@MokonaModokii It's still a fallacy and not what we're discussing. Try again. Actually, just stop.
DrunkenMaster209 1 year ago
why u really are that stupid i thought it was my imagination lets start from this I DIDNT SAY IT WASNT A FALLACY FUCKING IDIOT
MokonaModokii 1 year ago

MokonaModokii 1 year ago
@MokonaModokii
Dude you should just stop. You're coming off as more of a jackass with each post. Which really doesn't matter because it youtube. In closing boxing is fighting, you're retarded and dictionaries are your friend.
DrunkenMaster209 1 year ago
u are a fucking violent piece of society shit for what i see in your channel i just showed u how everything u said is wrong so now ur answer will be a fallacy against the person
MokonaModokii 1 year ago
cool story bro.
Spike00513z 1 year ago
Your dumb. However, boxing is fighting.
DrunkenMaster209 1 year ago
boxing teaches you how to destroy a human being in less than 10 seconds, mmgay = suck a dick in an octogan
woman FUCK you
tyson is so slow?shut the fuck up you ignorant hilbilly
youve never fought in your life.
Spike00513z 1 year ago
Not necessarily.
DrunkenMaster209 1 year ago
Plus look at the Mike Tyson vs. Andrew Golota. Andrew took such a beating that he had to quit in the 3rd round. Later that day, Golota callaspe and nearly died so he was taken to the hospital. The doctors said that he had a ruptured disk in his neck and if he would have continued he would've died. Plus, look at Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman. Foreman beat Ali so bad that Ali's kidney was destroyed.
TheFelix187 2 years ago
think of it this way...if an mma thats well trained in wrestling and jiu jitsu takes a boxer down to the ground and gets a full mount on him the boxer is toast
viper90988 2 years ago
yeah but a boxer would do a lot better when getting jumped or fighting 3 guys than a mma fighter. A jujitsu/wrestler can only fight 1 guy at a time. If I was to end up in prison and have to fight multiple guys at a time then I would way rather be a great boxer than mma fighter.
TheFelix187 2 years ago
@TheFelix187 Not necessarily.
DrunkenMaster209 1 year ago
