@micmason1234: Allow patients to take responsibilty and action for their own health. Our specific knowledge should be reserved to patients with complex problems, sometimes simple problems like non functional leg length differences. Respect others and you will be respected too. I appreciate the fact that you are so interested in your profession. There are more colors than black or white in this world...
@micmason1234: Having spent most of my life in Europe I am quite familiar with latin and greek vocabularies. Let us not discuss the fact that in the U.S. every sparkling wine is called "Champagne"... I do understand your fears that your education might be useless but that is totally untrue.
@micmason1234: Patients will never actively inflict pain on themselves unless it is what they intend to do. With the CT-L the user has total control over his actions and can stop at any time should he/she feel uncomfortable. Movements and forces are slow and safe. And yes, it is a very effective stretching method, safe and easy to use.
@micmason1234: Most of the times there are more solutions, techniques or maneuvers to one specific problem. At the end there is no clear right or wrong. HVLA techniques do work fine if performed correctly but have a high risk to it too.
This is terrible. People cannot be trusted to self adjust with a machine? People could seriously hurt them selves? Chiropractors train for years to perform these type of adjustments.
@micmason1234 : This sounds like the pharmaceutical industry complaining about healthy diets in order to rid unnecessary medication. I am a certified chiropractor and orthopaedic surgeon and in my carreer I have met many colleagues performing harmful and dangerous chiropractic maneuvers. The lumbar and thoracic regions are safe for self-adjustment while the cervical region is not and should be left to specialists. BTW: Is yoga illegal or bad ?
@CHIROTRACTOR Actually I am in my final year of Chiropractic School so I know exactly what I am talking about. No yoga it not illegal, but getting into this kind of position is more of a stretch. You do not have a machine forcing a large rotation into the lumbar spine. Not all lower back pain is mechanical.
Respond to this video... What if the user has a prolapsed disc? What if the user has another manner of undiagnosed pathologies causing their lower back pain? This could make it worse? You cannot unleash something like this on the public, especially not with claims of "Stop Back Pain". Also using the name "ChiroTractor" is very misleading. There is nothing Chiropractic about this, it is more of a stretching machine than an adjusting machine.
As you should know, when a Chiropractor performs this kind of adjustment, it is extremely precise, and targeting a single vertebrae, in a single plane. This is just "popping" (and I use the term very loosely) anything that will go. Not performing an adjustment and not targeting ANYTHING in particular.
If you are a Chiropractor, then you understand this is nothing to do with Chiropractic. Chiro - hand Practor - action by - Actioned by Hand. Chiropractic is the art, science and philosophy of working with ones hands.
@adamwoodhous: The primary target market are health clubs / fitness centers and golf clubs, secondary hotels, educational institutions. Prices for the first units depend largly on quantity and potential marketing benefits for us.What price do you think is reasonable ?
@adamwoodhouse: Just uploaded a couple of demo videos showing the new production model CT-L device. The production model has smaller dimensions and has common adjustment knobs with numbered scales. The prototype mechanism had to be shifted to the left and right for larger persons. The knee pads have velcro attachments so they can be easily changed if they are worn out.
Not. yet. What you see in this video was a prototype. Our final version is out now and will be shown at the FIBO trade show in Essen/Germany in April 2010. Hopefully, we will find a distributor for the U.S. shortly.
Life itself bears risks for which no one can be held responsible. Pathologic fractures can occur in any non-critical situation independent of nature. With a mindset like yours no innovation is possible. Chronic doubters lead miserable lifes for which they have nobody to blame but themselves.
All you are trying to do is attack the people who challenge your ideas. You did not answer any of my questions towards your so called "invention".
If you did know anything about adjustmens, you would realize that OVER ADJUSTING the spine leads to HYPERMOBILITY, which in turn leads to INSTABILITY, and guess what that leads to? INJURIES!
I do have to agree with you here. But the CT-L is not meant to be a stand-alone unit but rather be a device being used in combination and before other back strengthening machines. Doing back stabilizing exercises with locked joints is not advisable. So the CT-L usage ist fully justified in this context.
This is a pointless machine. This is just an excuse for lazy DC/DO not do their job. Professionals such as DC/DO get great education in their respected colleges and it is sad to see some doctors just throw that knowledge away.
1. Need to diagnose what type of back pain it is.
2. Need to know when to use traction and adjustments.
3. Non specific!!! No way to get certain segments or at least try to get at them.
Please stop scamming people and just do your job!!!
I used to get upset by comments like yours. The message to all potential patients should be that everyone can and should do something by themselves to stay healthy. Simply consuming and passive behavior will not help but ruin any health care system. So please think again before posting such negative comments. If you are a chiropractor or osteopath yourself I do recognize your comment as compliment :-)
Well if you take my overall comment that this "invention" is a load of big SH*T as a COMPLIMENT, then I have nothing else to state about this POINTLESS "invention"
"This will help prevent and treat lower back pain efficiently."
It won't be efficient because you need the impact as you say:
"the manipulative impact is missing because this manipulative thrust should only be applied by a certified specialist (like me) in order to prevent users from hurting themselves."
But it is the next best thing one can do without seeing a DC..
Every experienced D.C./D.O. will confirm that manipulative thrusts are not necessary for adjustment. Most videos on adjustments here show too many moves using too much force. I have the CT-L in my orthopaedic/chiro-practice and it does the job. You can try it yourself at the 2010 IHRSA conference in San Diego. This discussion is difficult without having seen and tried it in real life. I understand your scepticism though.
Patients visit few times the DC/DO who uses no thrust. After few visits they decide it offers no help and seek help from elsewhere. That's what 99% of patients do! So the DC/DO thinks his patient was cured because he/she won't come back. They are wrong...
According to medical studies DC/DO teatment is almost useless. Perhaps because many of them believes HVLA treatment is not needed even Palmer and Still used them when building the system.
In the past I also did HVLA but with more experience I turned to softer techniques. Soft tissue is a big issue, not just the joints. That's why stretching is essential in addition to strenghening.
Everyone can always name studies which are supposed to proof something.
In many times the body will readjust itself after a while. Will NSAR help ? yes. Is it cheaper than chiro ? sure. Go figure.
But with the CT-L effectveness can be had for a very low price.
You are partially right. It is an advantage that the manipulative impact is missing because this manipulative thrust should only be applied by a certified specialist (like me) in order to prevent users from hurting themselves. The goal of adjusting misaligned SI-joints or lumbar segments can still be achieved with the CT-L device. It will not allow chiropractic manipulation but rather self-adjustment through a very specific lumbar mobilization and stretching in absence of misalignments.
i want this and how do i get it?
