  • and looks handsome while doing so?

  • you are neglecting the fact you cant hear what each of them are saying.

  • I think a lot of

  • Impressive strength, but does this guy train legs? His thighs look small relative to his upper body

  • Uh.. you want your spotter to touch the bar at all times. If something happens, he will be there immediately as opposed to a few seconds later had his hands not been on the bar.

Just because his hands are on the bar does not mean that he is affecting your workout

  • Regardless of his spotter touching it and the fact its decline, VERY few people can even think about hitting that weight. Stop talking shit. Obviously the man is strong as hell

  • that was impressive

  • Jeez. He touched the bar. Before i max i always tell them my rules ! : )

  • That's alot of weight but it's on decline bench the easiest of all the versions. It would be more impressive on flat bench or incline.

  • @johnjr98 maybe for you. For me decline is the most difficult. Maybe because I'm 6'8". Also dealing with all that blood comming to my head when I'm declining is much greater than on the flat bench. So if you're 5'6" midget with T-Rex arms than you probably right but being almost 7 feet tall it makea all the difference.

  • I mean seriousily if that guy lost grip of the bar and the spotter didnt get it it would be certain death right?

  • I tell you what I was benching getting ready for a huge meet of a lifetime and had a bench shirt blow with 610 my spotter was right there and i am extremely thankful. Yes he should not have touched it but at the same time they both know he can handle the weight with confidence and possibly even move up in weight good lift either way.

  • stop stop you have so much more work to do b4 you lift heavy like that n o need to try look good to ur m8 .

  • im 5 years old and i bench 4000 pounds

  • i dont like how that spotter was touching it

  • Decline bench pressing allows any lifter the opportunity to lift heavy weights, 300 pounds, 400 pounds , 500 pounds even 600 or 700 pounds.

However, most high school or even professional football programs neglect the lift. Powerlifting does not test for it either.

In fact, only the supine or flat bench is employed.

Still, the decline makes a bench presser a "superman" bench presser!!

  • what i dont understand is since you can do around 25%more weight decline, why is the record raw flat bench about 250lbs more than decline?

  • yeah decline is somewhat easier lift it adds just 10 to 15 pounds to my raw bench.

still 500 pounds is very strong decline or not lot of weight great job!!!! 5 stars

  • wow impressive .!! i cant even d that in squats i can only do 4 plates 5 reps .!! im 15 i need more training lol

  • @kimboi32 no you cant stop lying.

  • your full of crap kid, unless your only bending your knees about 2 inches.

  • pretty good but im only 8 and last week i squatted only 7 plates on each side for 8 reps. im going to start taking protein powder tomorrow

  • hahaha thats brilliantly funny, idk why, just is. I'm 4 and I only bench 650, I think I'll take fish oil now. haha

  • something to that effect, yea. haha

  • decline is easier than flat for me.

  • decline is the easiest out of all.

  • it is for most people

  • Good job pal, keep it up.

  • Comment removed

  • No, they're actually MUCH harder.

  • decline is much more easy then flat in terms of the weight you can shift i was benching 90 kg for 6 reps on bech and when i switched to decline i got 105 kg for 6 reps thats 15 kg more i could hit on decline compared to flat so in terms of weight decline is much much easier

  • @beproxsoxbro meh theyre harder than flat for me but thats cause ive been training for only my flat bench, my incline and decline have gone to shit like my flat max is 205, but i struggled with 115 incline and 135 decline, but a while ago, i could do 135 decline but couldnt do 135 flat soo ye my two cents im 15 5'8 at 152lbs BW btw

  • thats a nice bench.

  • spotter shouldnt of helped on the lockout, you can tell he would of had it just fine by himself. props, to some heavy weight

  • @megotvtec i thin kthe guy just stopped pushing and the spotter grabbed it to rack it. i t hink this is one of those ego lifters who does partials lol.

  • Dont send me private comments cryin about shit. I DONT CARE

  • need more training so you can lift the amount of weight

  • what is the name 'Apexlogik' ?

  • u know nothing

  • Yeah, you're probably right. I like all the points that you made to prove me wrong. My experience in Powerlifting, and placing 2nd in the world as a junior division lifter in the WPC (1999) proves that you're right. I know nothing, and you're brilliant. Good job.

  • In my video of me doing 365lbs I almost did not post it because my spotter touched the bar.

  • he doesnt really look like he could do that much but he did! totally radical

  • These are some silly comments

Even though you can generally bench more decline than flat, working on your decline bench will still increase your flat bench, which I assume is his goal

I'd be nice to just do flat bench every time and add weight but eventually you burn out and have to use a different variation to make gains. Each variation put more emphasis on various parts of the lift and refreshes your CNS w. a new movement pattern

And the guy isn't a fat bastard... lol Ever been to America?

  • i bet the most of you guys that say the spotter sucks or he bench wrong dont even bench 210LBS so guys this is very good and it will be amazing withut steroids but i bet he don't use that shit hes just strong you can call this STRONG

  • wow how can people hate on a guy that just put up 500lbs on decline!? dude is a monster

  • afwunn..trust me at 6'5" 215# ..your frail..i will tell you this ..your barely able to do 275# if your lucky..

  • my good friend is 6'5" and when he was 215 he wasn't frail but he wasn't big by any means either... he didn't bench that much either... maybe 245 if he was lucky...

  • wtf?!?! dude I give u credit for pushin up more than i can but my bro does more than that. now if you were doin 500 normal bench then u would be king but try it again sometime

  • oeehh your brothers now were inpressed....

  • gotta love these guys... I'll be training in the gym and some guy will come up to me and say wow thats a lot of weight and blah blah blah, how long did it take for your to get there... than the final blow... "my cousin can do that" or "my brother can do that" "a guy at my college does more".. typical

  • No you don't; you're a bitter and sad person who fails at life.

  • Nah, Im pretty damn awesome and full of win, unlike yourself and this fatass. LMAO.

  • post a vid then tough guy

  • My intention wasn't to prove I'm an amazing lifter that knows everything. I was just trying to maybe explain what this guy is trying to accomplish by doing it on a decline. Hes trying to improve his bench. Not "square out his chest" or whatever. This is my assumption at least. He says he's both a powerlifter and a bodybuilder, but honestly, to get be that big, you need to be strong as a bull, so the distinction only matters with regard to what competition he's preparing for.

    The man is a beast.

  • And with regard to his bodyweight, its almost impossible for a natural trainee to achieve significant amounts of muscle without putting on fat as well. I bet he's looks like a monster when he's ripped.

  • Comment removed

  • he pulled it up right before his elbows locked, i give him credit if he didnt touch the bar for another 2 seconds

  • Can you do it?

  • What is up with everybody talking shit? This guy is obviously extrememly strong. Until you post a video of you doing more, quit running your mouth.

  • if someone touches the bar it doesnt count, if you dont get full range of motion (touch chest, lock elbows) it doesnt count. Still strong as shit though

  • Comment removed

  • number one rule for a serious lifter to his spotter... DON'T TOUCH THE FUCKING BAR... that is until it stops moving up or I lose control of the bar...

    nough said

  • Comment removed

  • haha, yup, if I hadda touched the bar my coach woulda punched me in the face after me got up!

  • I think in one of my videos you can hear me saying to my spotter "Don't touch it" in the middle of a lift.

  • @bmoresgent That's what she said

  • @RogerThat5891 amen. irritates me when i can handle it but the spotter goes ahead and touches the bar whole way up and down

  • @azsianwun Tell your spotter not to touch the bar unless you get stuck BEFORE the lift starts, it usually works

  • @RogerThat5891 It is annoying but he barely touched it, seen worse

  • @RogerThat5891 exactly get the fuk off hate it when ppl do that shit when i bench

  • @RogerThat5891 you're a dumbass.. dumbass

  • Comment removed

  • decline<333

  • for me decline bench press is a bit more easy to do then normal bench press

  • Im gonna shit my pants if I would lay under this weight omg

  • Obviously you are doing them wrong then.

  • lol

  • lmaoooo @ the guy who said decline bench works your lats rooofllllll.

  • i know, i though its supposed to work the lower chest

  • my pecs were very scared, lol. Its amazing the stronger I get on decline, i get stronger on flat bench too. and my chest gets bigger. weird huh?

  • "Interests and Hobbies: Bodybuiding. Powerlifting(USAPL). Telling People how to correctly perform an exercise"

There you go Mr Keck, you've just been schooled. Just how scared were the bottom of your pecs?

  • square* the bottom of you pec....lol

    still very strong though.

  • What is he is trying to work the lats? And some people use decline so their able to handle heavier weights on the flat bench.

  • thats powerlifting form taht he used with out the pause your talking about bodybuilding and doing that much weight if you do it like you said and you cant get you will eat the weight and it will fall on your face or neck

  • Lets see you fucking do it then!!!!!!!

  • that ann blair in the mirror lol?

  • 500 pounds is damn good man. you should be proud of yourself.

  • Spade you dumb ass...u dont get to a 500lbs bench by just doing one rep... obviously this dude does more than just one rep during his workouts...stop think your God's gift to power lifting, shut the fuck up, and give credit where credit is do...Nice lift man.

  • shut the fuck up spade

  • Spade...don't be such a bitch man...You are clueless

  • everyone you says decline is easy. this guy just pressed 500lbs you no how much 500lbs is

  • i'm not saying this guy isn't a monster but decline is easy i'd like to see him do that on incline : ) of course im not one to talk cause i only max 225 lol

  • spade, you are completely clueless...and full of crap...take your comments elsewhere, that maybe somebody will believe what your talking about, b/c you have no idea...this guy is a monster, and as good at bodybuilding as powerlifting...one of the most well rounded lifters i've been around...you ever listen to the top bodybuilders in the world? all of the top ones are also do powerlifting type weights...that's why big ronnie does 800 pound squats for reps of 2..piss off

  • that guy, is me. Im a powerlfiter and bodybuilder. Your statements shows your complete lack of understanding for weight training and bodybuilding

Short of the genetic anomalies on this planet, its not feasible to build an appreciable amount of muscle with out gaining some bodyfat. I was 250 in that video at 5'10" I was onstage at 209 last competetion, will i ever be pro, no....but Im willing to bet youve never competed in either.

  • I think somone is jealous. lmao

  • lmao funny comment my dads the same

  • Let's see your pics then, chief.

  • spade is hella gay

  • it is easier than flat IMO but this kids still obviously strong

  • I would be scared as shit to do that

  • boy are udesperate :)

  • is decline bench easier than regular bench?

  • no its not because you are using the muscles in the lower portion of your chest and not so much your midchest which is stronger than your lower chest. it is more of a shaping movement, not a power movement so i really dont know why you would use it as a max out. i only max out w/ bench and keep higher rep schemes with the decline for shaping of the lower pectoral.

  • levigarret, no disrespect is meant, but what you just wrote in completely wrong. Decline puts the vast majority of people in a mechanically superior position to flat bench, thus amking heavier laods easier to lift.

there is also no mid chest muscles, or lower chest, just pectoralis major and minor. the different anlges just recruit the muscles a bit differently and nothing more.

  • not questioning you, but I have heard the decline is the lower part of your chest. So can people incline more than they can flat ?

  • its very atypical for someone to incline more than they can flat. usaully decline is the strongest, then flat and incline is the weakest movement for most people. there are always exceptions though

  • its easier,i have 15 years of experience so i know what im talking about

  • Decline is absolutely easier than flat. Decline activates much more pectoral and lat fibers, it shortens the range of motion, and takes stress off of the smaller front delts. If you don't believe that, then try it. People can always handle more on decline than flat.

  • What's the difference between an incline and decline bench press?

  • the angle at which you are lying on the bench. with a decline, as shown your head is angled towards the floor. on an incline it is angle d upwards towards the celing.

an incline is a harder lift for nearly everyone.

  • incline works for the upper part of the pectoralis, decline for the lower

  • badass man perfect. you didnt bounce the shit like half the dudes on here who or liftin or bring your back off the bench

  • you mean an arch? there are enough flat back benchin gym rats

  • thanks Fiferz! ive always believed form and technique before ego and weight. appreciate ya lookin in on the vid.

  • there is nothing wrong with the arch

if you can bench without lifting your ass off

    more power to you

  • there is a BIG difference between an arch and lifting your butt off the bench. an arch is perfectly fine and what is very very common in powerlifting bench setups. lifting you butt off the bench is just bad form, period. it would get you disqualified in a meet.

  • what I meant exactly

  • it can cause a spinal injury

plus you can never call yourself a real lifter with butt off the bench

  • it has never caused spinal injury...

    Boy are you desperate!!!

  • if it never happened to you it doesn't mean that it couldn't happen to someone else.

but off the bench MEANS BAD FORM

real lifters don't do it for a reason

  • it has never caused spinal injury...

    Boy are you desperate!!!

  • it has never caused spinal injury...

    Boy are you desperate!!!

  • thanks jonathan!

  • thanks dodge. your right, next time i think i will try and get a guy on each side

  • perfect lift, outstanding!

  • just 1 spotter lol a bit sketchy, nice job buddy

  • lol, thanks Emmy :D

  • Keck, you are made out of steel and hellhounds.
